Smart Mode is now my favourite drive mode, I been using it for the last little while since I learned about it. I haven’t seen it go into sport, even had the rear end kick out.Today I discovered the "Economical|Aggressive" bar beneath the Drive Modes when you select the Drive Mode screen. The bar is greyed out (inactive) on all drive modes except Smart. While you are being a sane driver in "Smart Mode" (like an old guy), the bar stays lit up on the left, or "economical" side. But if you stomp on it, the economical bar disappears and the lit up side increases on the right or "aggressive" driver side. The "Smart Eco" turns into "Smart Comfort". So this "Smart" drive mode seems to be a halfway "Sport" mode. You are "aggressive", but not enough to make "Smart" switch to "Sport". At least, I haven't seen it do that (yet).
Also, @Crisis could you tell where the "Driver Awareness" setting is? I have no such setting in the LKA (Lane Keep Assist) menu, but I guess KIA might have thought it made sense to put it somewhere else?
Its alright the rest of us knew what you mentSure. I did have the term wrong, though. It's "Driver Attention", not Driver Awareness".
On the DIC, it's under "User Settings".

Hmmm, this feature did not come installed from factory in my GT2.....Sure. I did have the term wrong, though. It's "Driver Attention", not Driver Awareness".

This would agree with the numbers i am seeing...i reset the Accumulated for each fill up and keep track from there. I do NOT record the cars computer stat but do record the actual MPG based on miles/fuel burned. I would say that the Stinger Computer, on average, is 2-3MPG higher than actual.I have used a speadsheet for the last 4 cars to keep track of MPG from the first fill up to the last. Also had a formula to compare the the computer calculation from the manual calc. The 4 cars (all Korean), ranged from 1 to 2.5 mpg on the high side. My first tank on the Stinger was 2.7 high on the car's computer. My last car (Santa Fe Sport 2017 Turbo) was 1.4 mpg for about 40 fill ups. This was the best I every experienced.
Press pedal to floor (depress kickdown) and it will go to Smart/Sport. Really need to be on it and not just momentarily for SMART to activate the SPORT portion.Smart Mode is now my favourite drive mode, I been using it for the last little while since I learned about it. ha, ha...i would agree...ive only been able to achieve SMART/SPORT in that manner. Otherwise it stays in comfort. That's a pretty high level of aggression needed to activate SPORT. Too high in my opinion. Usually TCU's respond to quick(er) movements in the accelerator pedal as the clue to go into "sport" mode.
My second tank on the Stinger was only .9 mpg high. Think it was due to the dealer fillup not going all the way to the top. Also, maybe a difference in the octane gas they put in. I am using 89 they might have fill up with 87 to save some profit? This would agree with the numbers i am seeing...i reset the Accumulated for each fill up and keep track from there. My overall average is 26mpg for all fill ups. Not much city or highway. My first tank (dealer installed 87) was just over 19mpg.. I'm around 22 mpg running 93
My overall average has been 23-24 with the computer stating 24-26 in most cases. My overall average is 26mpg for all fill ups. Not much city or highway.
You believe this setting is related to LKA (Lane Keep Assist)? Don't think so. I turned mine off when I picked-up the car and I still get the same LKA (Lane Keep Assist) prompting as everyone else if I leave my hands off the wheel for a period of time.
Nope. It was simply when I was experimenting with the LKA (Lane Keep Assist) that it first appeared. I'd presume that it impacts the graph for Driver Awareness (& coffee cup icon) and hopefully not having it set to High Sensitivity will make the "hands off the wheel" prompt appear less frequently. Sometimes when receiving the hands off the wheel message it would also say it was disabling the LKA (Lane Keep Assist), other times it would simply note the hands off the wheel detected and not say anything about the LKA (Lane Keep Assist).
You are saying "Nope" and then saying you think the setting affects the "hands off the wheel" prompt. I said, "nope" i doesn't affect it because I have had my Driver Awareness OFF since Day 1 and that has no effect on the LKA (Lane Keep Assist). Which is it?
do you still get the "hands off the wheel" notification even though you have your Driver Awareness turned off?
