Wasn't it always intended to be a limited edition color?
Never a ltd edition down here. Had major issues with the paint peeling off the yellow vehicles. Read some classic cases on facebook, i was very tempted to copy and paste them hear, but they are to damning . This included total resprays having to be done. To show the autheticity of this the recepients posted the paperwork as proof. Hope this issue is not to all yellow cars?

As an owner of a yellow car, please send me that info. i'm about to open a case with KIA about mine. I have noticed paint chips all over my car already and i only have 2900 miles over 3 months.

Can someone post the link to the original thread regarding the recall of Sunset Yellows, and also post the link to the most comprehensive thread on chipping paint? I own a Ltd, Sunset Yellow bought in the US I only have 300 miles on “Alli” right now, and I’ll be doing a full body inspection to see how the paint is fairing.

Spoke to a reliable source re: sunset yellow paint issue & yes it is a problem when chipped it is apparently peeling & has something to do with the pigment in the paint & I’m told that Kia AU is buying back/offering refunds on yellow vehicles. They also mentioned similar/same problem with blue but couldn’t confirm which blue.
Note, that although my source is reliable this is still only 3rd party advice & could only be substantiated by an owner in this situation or a written recall from Kia.

yep, and i think i got ripoff idk, first car.
edit: had this car since 14/12/2017, so far nothing wrong, 3200km
Well I paid that for paint & leather protection from my dealer, you get warranty & peace of mind that dealer is always there & any issue are addressed without arguments, that’s been my experience for last 15 years of having dealers do this. I’ve had mine 31/11/17, 8,200kms & no issues, couldn’t be happier at this point in time.
I see your new to the forum, welcome, can you please add your general location to your profile.

I've heard from the same guy who had his sunset yellow repainted in Australia. I hope Kia does the right thing here in the US, too. My Micro Blue is chipping at an alarming rate, too. Waiting to hear from Kia Escalation customer service at this time. Seems like this might end up being a big deal

apperently yellow is still the stock collor and the only collor that doesn't cost extra here in Germany. Sad to hear that the paint is not good

Any suggestions on what to do here in the US? I’ve got a Sunset Yellow Limited Edition. I’ve only had it for a week and have been breaking her in. No signs of a paint issue just yet, however.

I think Kia will reach out to the Sunset Yellow owners if the issue is, in fact, really that bad. But if they don't, just keep an eye on your paint...if you start to see issues, then it's worth calling customer service.

I will try to find out today if any other colors have a stop sale.

Just confirmed for stop sale / USA Blue and Yellow.
