How to Install Oil Catch Cans

Video added
Where did you get those brackets? Did you just drill your own holes? I have same cans so am very curious. I have stock intske still so driver side may need some more work or I'll just run two in series on pax side until intske goes in.

Thanks!!

I went to Home Depot, They a lot of different brackets. I used a 3 in 90-degree bracket on the driver side. then I used a 1 1/2 on the passenger side I believe.

Hell yeah. Thanks. I've been trying to get a machine shop to fab one. Never crossed my mind to use one like that.

Thanks

Edit: Did you have to drill any holes into the bracket for the can. I have same exact cans as you.

I usually try to keep the cost of things low, So having someone do customs brackets was out of the picture for me! I did have to drill a second hole in 3-inch bracket. The 1 1/2 bracket has 2 holes already.

Awesome, will take the can mount over the HD this evening and see what i can find. Great info!!

Update: Just ordered 1.5, 2, and 3 inch brackets from HD...total $11 and will return what doesnt work or dont need!!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I just bought the dual baffled add w1 3.3. This was to eliminate the need for the 2 catch can need. Has anyone installed this version and can help me with mine. Please help the instructions included are not for the stinger and unsure where the proper connections are. Also the pcv hose gets plugged with a provided plug and hose clamp. I really want to get this installed but no one has used this new set up yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can do it myself just don't want to pay a shop 200 bucks for a 5 min job.

Check out GTB's video in this same thread! It'll show you the proper lines to connect to. I connected my drivers side hose directly off of valve cover and blocked the breather line going to the turbo. All of which are concealed by the engine cover.

GTB.. Do you not have a check valve on the intake manifold side can? If not you may be pressurizing the crank case when the IM Is under boost.

If both cans are "in line" with the original piping (which i assume they are based on pics) how would this possible?

PCV systems that vent directly to the IM are usually part throttle systems venting, and usually have a check valve inline. Perhaps lower on the line there is an OEM one ( or maybe the fitting on the IM is a check valve), but if not its problem. Any venting to the IM needs a check valve to ensure that when the Manifold goes to positive pressure, it doesn't blow into the crank case.

I agree in theory on this. Again, however, add the OCC "in line" would not by pass any such check valve already in the same line. I suppose the best place to put it would be at the IM fitting.

Either way, i still dont see how putting a can in line would cause any issues with any check valve. Bypassing or rerouting lines, that is another story.

Can we get one post put together with the full shopping list of what's needed for this?

2 catch cans
1/2" tubing, 6 feet? something like this? https://www.amazon.com/High-Performance-Silicone-Vacuum-Hose/dp/B009PYE3FK/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1526049220&sr=8-4&keywords=vacuum+hose+automotive+1%2F2
1 - 90 degree elbow - link?
2 - L brackets for mounting
4 - clamps
thread tape
couple screws
I installed ONLY the PCV side and was able to make the piping work with that supplied by ADD W1 in the OCC Kit. I did, however, need to use a 3/8 -> 3/8 coupler as well as a 1/2 -> 1/2 Elbow Coupler (both purchased at Ace Hardware)

i used the 3/8 -> 3/8 coupler on the PCV line FROM the engine as the stock hose appears to be 3/8 but is extruded to a diameter just below 1/2 for the actual fitting and i did not like how tight the 1/2 couplers were on that line. I needed to extend this line to the OCC. From the OCC to the Manifold inlet, i used 1/2 line along with the 1/2 Elbow so that there where no bends/kinks in the line. My OCC is on the same location as the OP and no way to make the turn cleanly with the 1/2 line.

For the L bracket, i stopped in at HD and purchased a small set of L corner braces. had to enlarge the holes on it with a dremel to fit the OCC bracket. I did use thread tape on all connections as well.

Elbow Link - this is from HD but you get the idea. My local HD did not have any so went to ACE as they have a sizable selection of these fittings

20180526_163729.webp 20180526_163723.webp 20180526_163736.webp Just got my catch cans installed. Took about 2 hours making custom brackets. The only thing I bought that wasn't included in the ADD W1 kit was about 4 feet of 3/8 inch fuel line and 2 flat pieces of steel. Brackets are mounted to old Airbox bolt holes.

Very Nice

I see that Tork Motor Sport put a video up of some very nice integrated ones but they are not listed on their website anywhere?? I currently have the ADD W1 on the PCV side. I am limited on space due to still having stock airbox on breather side and i dont really want to route lines all around the engine bay at this point.

So i'm a complete noob when it comes to catch cans and quite honestly, engine's in general lol, brother in laws a mechanic and said there's no need for a 2nd can, but keep seeing everyone doing 2 cans, i also just bought a cheap can that had a baffle in it. My question is the breather one from what i've read on here absolutely necessary and how much actually is being "caught" if you would from it in comparison to the PCV side. Here is the can I bought https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B071WLX4Y9/ref=pe_3034960_236394800_TE_dp_1 having to find the lines for it though and just wondering if worth waiting til i get Cold Air before doing it to make install easier. Any info/insight would be appreciated, were installing the borla exhaust on it tomorrow, hoping to maybe also tackle this!

Did this work? I saw a YouTube video that did this and the guy said nevermind it didn't work.

I got the dual inlet can from ADD W1 and I'm not sure how I'm going to make it work with my injen intakes on the driver's side.
