How to Install Oil Catch Cans

Did this work? I saw a YouTube video that did this and the guy said nevermind it didn't work.

I got the dual inlet can from ADD W1 and I'm not sure how I'm going to make it work with my injen intakes on the driver's side.

Technically all you need is one CC on the PCV side.
Did you get installation instructions?
I also went the dual inlet CC route and eventually exchanged it for the one inlet CC

I installed the second CC that I was stuck with on my Impala

As I understand it, you want both lines if you are going to be increasing the boost at all (JB4, tune, etc.).

Note that I bought two cans (before I had the car!!) and was prepared for it. Then my guy would find only one connection. I am going to sue him ...not. :)
How often are they filling up? Or have they at all??

What's the deal with some people blaming turbo failure on the catch cans and check valve issues?

Not sure about any turbo issues. I'd imagine you could run into trouble if you installed the check valves backwards... I just put out a 3000 mile update video. Check it out here:

Your Stinger content is excellent. Thx for posting this on the forum. I'm sure others would like to see your Injen install video in the "How To" section. Cheers

That’s a lot less than I expected. I just emptied my PCV single inlet can at 600 kms and had 3 to 4x that amount.

I just emptied my dual cans at about 5000kms. PCV can had 35ml of black oil. The other can was empty. Not even a drop. It looked brand new.

I might run my second can inline with PCV can..

Exactly what we encountered. I was, until now, wondering if it was due to the dual BOV that only one can contained oil and the other one dry.
Thanks for the INFO

Jeff

I used the cheapest I could find.......they are easily overpriced

BMS is working on a new "drip right back into the oil reservoir" version - I'm waiting for that!

Not ideal for cars running any significant amount of ethanol, but there are a few "AOS" (Air/Oil Separators) available in the Subie aftermarket world that do this.

I used this thread to install my can this last weekend:

Stinger-Catch-Can.webp

I bolted directly to the shield. The only issue is the dipstick is inaccessible. I also used the stock breather tube going to the intake from the can, and a 3/8" line going from the cover to the can.

Did my first oil change (bought my Stinger used) and installed a ADD W1 OCC shortly after I purchased the car. My car sits outside so this cold is causing condensation (water) and all kinds of junk to get trapped in the OCC. The picture shows what is left after I dumped out the OCC. I’m so glad i’m not putting this junk down the intake or back into the oil pan

That’s ugly stuff:(. Good thing you’re catching it. How many miles was it? I’ve only seen black oil in mine about 1+/- tsp every 3000km.

this was approx 3500 miles. Like I said, my car sits outside and I do a lot of shorter trips so that condensation doesn’t have time to burn off. I really need a three car garage so I can move my car inside.
