How much did your car insurance change with the Stinger?

Coverage with USAA : $593.53/Six months
Liability -
Bodily Injury $100,000/300,000
Property Damage $100,000
PIP $50,000

UM/UIM - $250 Deductible
Bodily Injury $50,000/100,000
Property Damage $100,000

Physical Damage -
$250 Deductible Comp/$500 Deductible Collision

Rental Reimbursement - Standard Class
If you have assets to protect (like a house for instance) $100,000 per person in 2018 es no bueno, I'd recommend a minimum of $250/$500,000, and an umbrella is important, also. I have $1,000,000 CSL + a $4M umbrella, if I hit a car with multiple people in it it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it, an umbrella is the best bargain in insurance today, usually around $500 for $1M worth of coverage.

I have Nationwide and mine went down $60 every 6 months. Went from a '16 Focus St to the GT.

Mine jumped up quite a bit with Allstate (long time Allstate customer) and I have many policies with them- all discounts applied. My agent said, geez, that must be quite the car for this rate!

I think is time for me to shop insurance after all these years.

I went from a BMW Z4 to this GT2 (UP OVER $1500 YEAR), BUT I do have claims (and tickets), don't judge me!

I switched from Allstate, long time and found out they were jacking me even with no claims, switched to Safeco and saved about 100 a month with 3 cars, motorcycle, and house..

Mine went up about $20 per month coming from a genesis w/ Geico. I just suffered through a 6hr online defensive driving course so that should help bring it back down.

We have Liberty Mutual. I went from a 2015 Chrysler 200 S to a Stinger GT1 (w all drivewise features), and our rate went up $15 a month.

Hmm.. I use State Farm and have been with them forever. We went from a Mazda Speed6 to a fully loaded Stinger GT2. The cost went up about $300 a year, to just over $800 a year (Full coverage). I don't think that is bad at all considering all the discounts we were getting on the Mazda for how long we had it and have no accidents blah blah blah..
I got a quote today on GT2 from state farm $3300 for 6 months! She told me it's a sports car. Like what? I asked her if she quoted me or my 18 year old and sure enough they aren't the only ones with high rates.

I’m coming from a G37 and the change was $108 more per year. Not bad

So after three weeks of waiting for paperwork to be approved, I officially pay $193 a month for a 2018 Acadia Denali and GT1 through USAA. I’m 25 and my wife is 24. I feel like I scored. Farmers had me at $300 with my home owners insurance combined and everywhere else like state farm, Allstate, and etc had me at $500+ A month.

If you could please include if you have kids on policy or not. I've checked a couple of other places and it looks like things go went up a lot because of kids on my policy.
thx

What did you do to get this?

This is a hard comparison as everyone’s insurance will vary by so many different factors.
The obvious factors are driving record and age. But some folks don’t realize that your zip code, credit history, homeownership, length of commute and time with insurance carriers all factor into your rate.

Most all insurance is quoted based on your VIN#, but still be sure your agent needs to know the Stinger is a 4 door hatch and not a 2 door sports coupe.
Make sure they give credit for all the safety features. Have them assign the primary driver as the person in the house with best driving record and credit, and over 25 (preferably female). Finally, don’t over estimate your annual mileage and I would never recommend a drive monitor that tracked your driving habits (these are Stingers not a Prius :sneaky:)

What did you do to get this?

I live in California (Los Angeles County to be exact) and my salesman actually informed me about how good USAA is and how their prices are great.

Basically to qualify, you need to be apart of the military or a veteran. You can also apply if your father or grandfather are a veteran and was honorably discharged. You have to provide documentation of that. It cannot be a uncle, cousin, brother, sister, etc.

My grandfather is a veteran so that’s how I was approved. I showed them his honorable discharge certificate.

Hope this helps!

Safeco Insurance. Went from a 2012 Camaro 2SS/RS to a 2018 Stinger GT2 AWD. Total increase was about $50/yr.

No judgments and it is not you, its the industry. I am not replacing it with anything and called several companies. They are quoting it as sports car pricing. I have not ever owned a car that was quoted this high...ever.

I am in very similar boat as you... have everything home, car, umbralla, etc with all state and mine went up a lot. I'm blaming the kids and told them they need to get a job this summer and pay me back for increase my insurance so much.. lol just kidding

There are just too many variables to make this thread very helpful.
Best advise is to check rates BEFORE you sign on the dotted line (a VIN # helps get accurate rates).
And shop around including contacted independent insurance agents that can get quotes from multiple carriers.
My rates went up about $90/yr going from 2014 Audi S4 to GT1.

Gong from Sorento LX to the GT with two adults over 50 with spotless records it went up about $30 a month with Safeco.

All right, I am definitely doing something wrong here. I got 3 quotes today for a leased GT2 RWD (Geico, StateFarms and Progressive). I need to drive 20k miles per year (I know it's a lot and does not help, but that can't change that). All of them quoted me for 6 months for about $1500. Now, reading what you guys are actually paying convinced me there is something wrong about I am doing and do not understand. I do have a speeding ticket and that adds to the policy $15 to $50 each month (depending on the company). But still, the prices I got quoted are insane. Any help? I am in California (Los Angeles). Thanks

edit: I kept checking with other companies and those are the numbers I constantly get. I even got quotes saying I drive 5k miles per year and I am still getting that range ($230-300 per month). What am I doing wrong?
