How much did your car insurance change with the Stinger?

our 2 Stinger $827 every 6 months Full Coverage GEICO.

1140 every 6 months with geico. This is up from 1130 with the Cadillac ats I had previously.

Update:

Called USAA a few minutes ago to get a quote and they are saving me 100 bucks a month.

2018 Denali and GT1 for 198 a month. Saved 600 bucks switching from farmers

Been with Geico for 20+years, full coverage, 100/300, insurance went up $27 for the years. $13.50 every 6 months!!! Score!

Interesting stuff guys. Mine just went up $30 per month going from a 2009 Acura TSX to the GT2. Seemed quite fair to me.

Going up is relative I guess. If you had a fast car before going to stinger might only increase by a small amount. But I'm coming from a subaru legacy and I think mine went up around $500 to about $1096 every 6 months with 2 adults and 2 teenage drivers. (The 2 teenagers were on my policy with legacy too..) My sense is that the combo of 2 teenagers drivers and this car are the reason.
I still need to shop around more to see if there is a better rate.

Wish I could get some of these cheap rates! I was turned down by several big insurance companies straight away because of my address. Of the few who quoted me geico was half the price of the others and that's still nearly 200 a month.

If you know someone from the military or if you live in California, you should try USAA. I’m so happy with the price I got and the service. Multiple people told me about them and how much they saved. I couldn’t believe how much they saved so I gave it a shot. Sure enough, they were right

Another 1st world problem is the huge uptick in insurance rate. I'm coming fron subaru legacy to stinger and the rate went up $1000 usd for the yr.

I was not expecting that.
Mine only went up 200 per year. I did change a few things to keep it down. I had a 100 deductible that I raised to 500. I would guess your age also will play into it. I’m 54? So they probably think I drive Sensible, they don’t know me very well.

Going from 2017 Cadenza to the Stinger cost me $6 per month more with USAA.

Is it that you have to know someone in military or be a close relative of someone in military?

I have USAA and mine went up slightly. But then again I went form a 4 year old Prius to a new Stinger. I think the safety features helped me out. I also do believe in shopping every 4-5 years. USAA always starts out great but slowly goes up over time. You switch for a year or two and then switch back to get great rates again.

Comparison shopping people from different zip codes is a fail as autos are rated by area, symbol, drivers and their records, so...

Full coverage changing from a 16 hyundai genesis was $100 more per YEAR, I was happy with that news

My grandfather is in the military but if you live in California, you can get auto insurance through them without knowing anyone in the military.

Mine stayed the same from the K900 to the Stinger, $1200 Canadian a year.

It's all about the vehicle symbol, based on the MSRP of the car and other characteristics like engine size. Your $28,000 Optima might be an 8, your Stinger an 11, add in the difference between the 4-banger and the 365bhp engine and you're going to pay more, the likelihood of the company paying more $ for damage to a $52,000 car than a $28,000 car plus more speed = more accidents.
