Exhaust tips (2022)

Thanks for the feedback on your experience! I’ve been exploring the route of exhaust wrap but I hear it eats the metal over time as it traps moisture and makes it super brittle. I might end up getting the AliExpress tips for the drone and vibrant ultra quiet resonator welded on. It’s going to make my brand new exhaust a kind of Frankenstein exhaust but I just want to eliminate that rasp while addressing the cabin drone.

Sorry if this is a dumb question to ask. My Lozic Catback exhaust pipe measures 50mm (5cm), should I get a 51mm or 54mm tips? Just not sure how much tolerance I should be considering. Probably will get an exhaust shop to install but going to ask them to clamp it. I’m leaning on 54mm so there’s 4mm wiggle room but unsure if that’s too much of a gap.

51mm. I have 51mm on my Kunstwerk exhaust which measured around 50.8mm and it fits perfectly. The clamps will tighten it down.

if they are 50mm go for the 51. they only clamp down so much. double check the exhaust diameter before you order.

I finally pulled the trigger and welded on some vibrant ultra quiet resonators and replaced the tips with AliExpress ones. I ended up with 54mm on a 2" wide pipe and happy I did as the tolerance was way too tight if I ordered the 51mm tips. As I did them both at the same time, I can't say which one is doing the better job reducing drone but it's virtually quiet in the cabin, maybe too quiet. I'll report back if the sound changes after the resonators break in but it's a love-hate situation. The parent in me says it's an acceptable volume for the kids but it's only slightly louder than stock. I love that it's no longer raspy but it has lost the sound and character that the exhaust once have..

ditch the resonators, keep the tips.

Hey y'all, just figured I would follow up here. Looks like mine is a similar setup to Buklau. The tips definitely stick out a bit more than stock, but this could be adjusted to sit further in.
Thanks for your research,

I’m looking for the correct size for stock exhaust. Is 54 IN, Size C Out the right size?

Also, is there any empty space between the tips and the Diffuser?

one Last Confirm before ordering. 😁👍🏽

I don't have an MBRP. Stock exhaust aside from the downpipes.
Are you talking about the screws that keep the fake factory tips in place?
Question for you . . . Stock exhaust except for downpipes? I'm guessing Secondary?

How does it sound? I was thinking of doing this on my own GT2 and wanted to know if the sound is just a little deeper from stock. I don't want any aftermarket exhausts, just thinking secondary DPs and tips on the stock exhaust will give me the sound I want. (coupled with AFE intakes)

Not many running this so was just looking for feedback. Any videos you may have would be awesome too!

I have the Ultimate performance HFC Downpipes + mid pipe combo kit and I can confirm it does make a noticeable difference in sound and performance, I will say if you plan on going with some HFC it’s recommended to do a tune like a Jb4 to get the peak performance from them. Also if you do a jb4 look into installing some new spark plugs with a gap of 0.022 to 0.024
