What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

That turned out well. We got our 2019 Premium back from the dealer service center this afternoon. When they checked on the fuel pump failure they discovered the leaking valve cover and added replacing the gasket to the warranty work. Without being covered both jobs would have run over $1,500, so, I am a happy customer. I gave the 2.0L the full beans coming home and everything boosted nicely smooth as silk.

Our cost was listed as "customer $50 deductible." Plus $3.66 tax. The invoice says, "Repair completed under JM&A CPO warranty." Interesting.

Tried to recharge my A/C system on my own. That was a fail.. Hoping someone here can help—I'm trying to recharge the A/C on my 2019 Kia Stinger GTS, which is blowing hot air (and with temps averaging 95°, it's brutal out here).

I picked up a R-1234YF A/C recharge kit, but the connector doesn't seem to fit the low-pressure port on the car. Has anyone else run into this? Am I missing an adapter, or is there a specific brand of kit that works better with the Stinger?

Any advice or guidance would be really appreciated! I don't really want to go to the dealership if I don't have to...

You don't have to use the dealer. Any competent mechanic can get your A/C back online. Don't fiddle with this on your own when it is "brutal out there." That is my recommendation.

When I got our Premium back this afternoon after five days in the shop, I got in and turned on the A/C and it blew 100F air all over me for the longest time. I am so used to turning on the car and having cool air come out almost immediately that I really wondered if somehow the goons had broken my A/C. Thankfully not, it just needed time to circulate and get going again.

Why did your A/C lose coolant in the first place?

The GTS didn't already come with those pieces in carbon fiber?

Wish I could get all those pieces in gloss black.

Looks great. I have thought about buying them (top and bottom). Where did you get them?
I also agree that I would prefer them in gloss black plastic but surprisingly no one makes them.
They are available at multiple places - google kia stinger grills and/or grill assembly. Did not see any black ones but did not check out the search results very thoroughly. Amazon has these as well.

if you wanna black gloss it out i would do the black ppf or vinyl

LiFePo4 battery upgrade this afternoon.

Original battery had a car off voltage of about 11.6v, so i went ahead and pulled the trigger.

Pretty much, but I was able to afford it as and mentioned, my car off voltage was quite low with the stock battery. With a tender included I came off at about US$850. I figure that unless that LiFePo4 battery is on the low-end of longevity, total cost over the lifespan will not be *that* much more than it would be if I just used AGM batteries and had to swap them out taking into account AGM typical lifespans.

Plus, it's not like it's in a hot engine bay and it doesn't get that cold here.

So far I haven't tried driving her hard through the twisties (had it in less than 24 hours as of this posting), so I'm unsure of how she'll handle without all that junk in the trunk and the weight balance being off; same with fuel economy--I don't yet know the real world effects of the lessened weight.

The only "negative" so far is that while running my previous stock battery, the voltage was low enough that ISG never really came on unless I did an imperial buttload of highway driving. Now, it comes on all the time. Darn.
What size battery did you go for?
Group 49 / H8. It is whatever PowerTex recommended for a 3.3TT Stinger. Looking at the bolt holes in my photo, I think a larger battery can go in there, but this one fit like a glove.

$850 will buy ~3 batteries, figure ~4 yrs average life span. That's 12 years. Not sure I'll keep the car that long.

I'm still on the original battery at 4 years now. Don't drive much at all but do put it on the tender periodically (few times a month at least, more so during the winter). So far so good.

VERY simple ISG auto-disable…
