Will you update?

If I was only looking for wireless AA I'd go with that unit. What I'm really wanting though is a box that runs android so I can run Google Playstore apps.
That would be a whole different beast.

No voice call latency that I have noticed.

I will do some tests shortly.
That would be great, thanks! Also, how do you find the overall performance of the unit to be when using apps other than android auto? Some of the Amazon reviews comment on it being pretty sluggish and getting very hot and unresponsive.

Other apps???

This little dongle can only run android auto (also claims support for Apple car play, but I can't test that).

No apps other than Android auto are supported!

I use Spotify, Waze, and occasionally Google maps, + voice calls via the android auto wireless interface. No lag whatsoever thus far.

I also tried this the other day, while navigating with Waze, I turned off the GPS on my phone, and navigation continued to work accurately, so I can only presume that Android Auto uses the cars integrated GPS antenna.

I was pleasantly surprised.

I think I see the issue.

I tried to post a link specifically to the item I purchased, and this website, or the Amazon link added some additional Smart linking that have nothing to do with the item I was trying to link.

Specifically this is the item I purchased (Brand = Oasplus)

Ha, that does make more sense, lol. Yea I see why you were so confused. I'll keep this one in mind if I go the wireless AA route only. Thanks man, sorry for the confusion.

This isn't voice call latency, but it is connection speed.

Very quick IMO.

Also, notably, when talking on a phone call, while connected to Android Auto, if you disconnect Android Auto, there is an immediate fall back to Bluetooth, so immediate I am assuming that it is using Bluetooth for the phone call. Not even a glitch or a tick when disconnecting from Android Auto during a phone call

Can anyone confirm/deny if the newest update has that annoying over speed warning every time the car is started and while driving that I read about. I haven’t updated since the last Nixie tubes update and still have the good looking drive mode animation. Probably not worth updating as everything works fine now for me. Thanks lol

Sounds like you are five or six or seven updates behind..

Do you have an example of what this annoying overspeed warning every time the car is started is?

i'm on the most recent version and never had an overspeed warning on any version... you can set a warning in uvo to warn at a set speed if you want but not by default... is that on the higher trims where it reads speed limit signs with the camera possibly?

This is why we need to see an example of what is even being discussed!

Especially on a very old software version!

Oh yea my version is real old (on purpose).

I guess this doesn’t apply to stingers

Have been frustrated by Apple Car Play to the point of just using BlueTooth streaming. It works most of the time. Had the radio on instead because of a program I wanted to hear and now the car is changing my stations without any prompts. Clearly I have an electrical gremlin somewhere. How would I go about solving this? Ignition Coil Packs? Grounding System? Alternator? Amp? I'm out of factory warranty, but I do have a 3rd party extended warranty that may or may not cover it, depending on what "it" is.

April update is out for North America. Maps only, no feature changes.

Well, I was "told" the company that does the updates does it for all GPS here not just Kia so its the same.

The Mazda I got up dated to the latsest version has the same "faults" as mine does from the MY23 last build Stingers. Same dead school zones after they closed. Same missing new ones.

So I wouldn't bother updating anything. Likely to wreck something else you actually want.

It baffles me that they chose the absolute worst edition of all the last 6 years of UI and decided to leave it as the final version for our pre-facelift Stingers.

So many useful features taken out over the last years with zero explanation. It's like Kia put together a dream team of all the f-ing morons working in the automotive industry, just to ruin our UX. I hope one of them is on this forum and reading this.
