What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Finished work earlier today, and decided to tackle leaking oil filter housing, oil cooler, cooler lines and serpentine belt. But once I removed the belt, I noticed some play in water pump, so decided to replace it as well, since I had the parts laying anyway. 130k miles. Took me another 30-40 min to bleed the system. 20240507_150509.jpg20240507_135040.jpg20240507_163030.jpg20240507_191439.jpg20240507_163348.jpg

Btw, this is 80k miles belt. Looks perfectly normal. So I would guess it should last at least 150k miles. 17151249309918333362848019078090.webp

Impressive, you just had a spare stinger water pump laying around.
Can you do my turbo recall? I don't trust the kia techs
I had aluminum water pump pulley that cracked and started making noise some time ago. I thought it was a water pump at first and ordered parts. Once I removed the pulley and saw the cracks, there was no need to replace water pump. So it was laying around since than. Now, it came handy. And no way I would even try to replace that turbo line. I can't even see it. Curious, how are they replacing it without dropping the engine.

That's what I said  You can just barely feel it if you know where to stick your hand.
Someone just put a link in that recall thread, on how to do it. Looks doable, but pita. So I wouldn't worry about mine at the moment, and will just keep an eye on that line. At least you can see where it connects to turbo. I am guessing that's the weak spot.

Finally got around to replacing my spark plugs today, what a pain in the ass! Thankfully everything worked out well, but my giant ham hands were a bit much for #5 so that took me a good 2 hours alone. Hoping I wont need to change the plugs for a while. Next up is Velossa Tech Big Mouth lit kit sometime in the near future.

That looks really good! I ordered 15mm and 20mm spacers last week. Still waiting for the slow boat.

Can you follow up with pics of the car after and a link to the spacers please? Considering 15/20 for mine too.

Installed a BMS stage 2 HPFP, a Fuel It ethanol sensor, flashed my ECU with a JB4 BEF for E85 (running E60 now) and 19 degrees timing. JB4 is on Map5.

The car pulls so hard now and it just keeps pulling. But because of accel pedal mapping it was jerky to drive in sport mode. I bought one of those pedal commanders from Race Tech and I'm running it in Eco mode, smooths out the power down low in the throttle range, smoother corner exits

Didn't mean to start a ruckus with my little joke about the badge. Really I'm trying to send a low key message that tuners would understand, environmentalists are free to interpret that differently.

you know the internet. I was just making sure it was a joke, because of my vast ignorance about modded engines. you can't tell when someone will actually assert that they have blended high performance with "green" performance. the irony of the net is that it has bred more instability into the truth than ever before in human history.
