Kia is recalling certain 2019-2020 K900 and 2018-2023 Stinger sedans with a 3.3-liter turbocharged engine due to concerns that the left turbocharger oil feed pipe and hose assembly may deteriorate and leak oil.

Just checked my vin. No recalls are showing. I am wondering if that left side leak has something to do with turbo failure. Several failures I've seen, it was always left side.

Mine isnt on the KIA site for canada yet either. I think it probably takes a bit of time to go into the system for them.

So I’m looking at the shop scans for the Turbo Manifold Module Repair procedures. Step 1 is “remove engine and transmission assembly”. Step 16 is “remove the LH turbocharger oil feed pipe”.

This can’t seriously require a drop of the engine and trans, right?

By looking at the left side turbo, I am pretty sure it does. It's pretty tight in there.

Oh jeez, I don't trust my local dealer to do an oil change let alone drop the engine and transmission. Almost positive they will screw something up or break something else in the process.

If that's the case, I wouldn't know what to do as well. Last thing I want is for dealer to touch my engine.

If your car isn’t leaking what’s the big deal, ignore the recall and keep enjoying the car. It won’t void your warranty to not have a recall done, especially this late in the game..the cars already discontinued.

If in fact they do have to drop any major engine components I won’t be entertaining this recall. In 5 years never had a single leak, done most of the maintenance myself, best believe I’m not letting any of these dealers drop my engine for some shit like this and if I had to drop the engine I’d be upgrading the head gaskets and studs.
The wiring harness recall few years ago obviously was a bit more detrimental so I got that done.

NHTSA site already updated tomorrow, hah, it already says 9th of March. My VIN isn't pulling up anything. Comments above say it won't be officially announced till late April. I will not go in for this one unless I see some of that white smoke, see the oil light, and/or see oil starting to appear on my driveway. If it ain't broke, don't mess with it. And if you do, you will likely wind up with something else broke.

Yes, I saw that, so, why a recall through the entire production period?

And why would replacing the oil line to the turbo fix anything? Won't that just delay it? Maybe the oil line replacement is more impervious to heat?

I guess that is where that burning oil smell and smoke has been coming that i have been ignoring and praying about.......So if they have to drop the engine and I have a JB4 installed what are they going to do

Assuming your issue is what the safety recall addresses, they would still fix it. However, best believe your JB4 would be noticed and possibly used against you in the future. Best to remove it before going in.

I have a 2018 with 95k miles on it warrenty is long gone I am just worried about them f*cking stuff up
