Thanks. I didn't know Kia maintained a web presence for updates. This isn't some kind of update that comes through the wireless in the car then? We have to download it to some kind of media and go through an update process?
I agree it should have been there. I had to specifically ask for mine as the Delivery sheet had the box checked indicating it was installed and lo and behold i go check...not there. The SD card comes with the car. It is in a little plastic pouch in the owners manual papers. I watched the tech dig it out of the glovebox and install it.
Found an odd difference in price between the Canadian and American sites... wonder if they are the same? Both prices reflected are in USD. The part numbers are different as well.
American Site:
2018 Kia Stinger Map Update-122S5A
Canadian Site:

They shouldn't be compatible with each other, one has CA and primary, the other is US. Also, $199 CAD is about $150 in USD, so it works out?Per the rep at MnSOFT, they are different software versions and not compatible with one another. Don't know how much truth that is. He also doesn't know why the price difference. So Canadians are stuck paying the higher price, whether in US or CDn dollars.

Ill take that software load if it makes a 360 camera appear on my car...ill pay twice if it also makes the headliner turn from fabric to suede!!Did you even look at the website....it's $199 US on the CDN site, or $242.10 CDN. So no, it does not work out.
Why wouldn't the maps be compatible. This is a North American update. My loaded maps should be the same as someone in the States. Supposedly what's different is the software version. I guess we Canucks are just special with our fancy 360 cameras and shit.
Sorry I missed some tiny red text that was made difficult to see on purpose.Did you even look at the website....it's $199 US on the CDN site, or $242.10 CDN. So no, it does not work out.

Thank you so much for this information. Just called the number you provided and they were super helpful. Just bought my car 2 weeks ago and the Map version i have is 2 updates behind. They are sending me a new version 12 SD card for free since my car is so new. Thanks again for the great info!I just spoke to KIA. This is the deal. As a policy they charge for all software upgrades. But because of the proximity of time between the purchase and upgrade, they are making an exception for me. I suggest anyone who bought recently should try to push the envelope on this and get their new SD card. I called the "Premium Team": 855-542-7733.
On a sadder note, you will not be able to use all functionality of the UVO app because the car does not have a modem (unlike most of the top line KIA's, according to the rep). Maybe in future model years. So no remote start through UVO.
The GT2 is wifi enabled so if you are within wifi range of your house (sitting in the garage for example) you should be able to update via your own wifi router. I don't know how far down the trim line that applies.....
