Did you replace the front struts yourself? If so, what was the process? Thank you

I had my control arm bushings replaced and have been problem free since then. Only replaced the large ones from the rear curved control arm. These ones.
I did them at 135K km and now have 163K km. Car still drives like a dream :)

Thanks for responding yesterday Calvn - I'll put up a new thread on the forums, I have a few important mentions that every stinger owner will find helpful. Not sure when i'll go about this - is this information you need right now?

I'm installing coil overs this weekend and will be disconnecting the control arms so not vital just curious

Just adding some info here for anyone else with similar symptoms. My suspensions was acting up, lots of noises, dealer inspected the bushings and said all LOOKED fine. After replacing the lower control arm, #10 on the diagram, one of the noises went away. Then they replaced the upper strut mount and the other noise went away.
Point is, visually the bushings may look okay, but sounds like that may be a problem as the stingers get up in mileage.
I have 58k on my 2018.

What noise(s) did you have. Any way to describe it? Trying to figure out my noise now.

Control arms sounded like metal decompressing, high pitch metal on metal screech. The strut mount (ended up replacing mount too) was a deep low thunk)thud Started out very mild and eventually became every bump in road. It was like someone hitting the underbody with a baseball ball. Sway bar links make a similar noise.

If your able to get the noise on camera, send it to me and Ill tell you if it is the same noise.

If you want to know just how much these suspension bushings get stressed, take a look here. The below pic is me at the end of threshold braking, and starting to trail brake into a left turn. Notice how much the front wheel is pulled back. That is the OEM soft rubber bushings flexing BIG TIME. Even the rear wheel does the same, but to a lesser degree.

Those Superpro bushings are definitely a good idea for tightening up the front suspension, albeit at the expense of some reduction in road isolation. BTW, Whiteline also offers the same: Radius Arm Lower - Bushing Kit Double Offset

Have you done those bushing upgrade?

Mine sounds exactly like that video.

Ok, it seems my Stinger is attracting some bad omens.

Today I went to the dealer to have the last set of front bushings replaced. After the curbed control arm bushings and the stabiliser bar bushings, today they replaced the forward arm bushings (the straight arm). I wanted them replaced simply because they were squeaking over bumps.

After they finished I got in my car and instantly realized something was way off.
The steering was VERY soft turning right and VERY heavy when turning left. It was like the steering had its own plan of where the car should go. Really impossible to drive.

Went back. They mentioned they had to disconnect the tie rods to get to the arm but that everything should be fine. They did a full reset of the computers but nothing. They did a full alignment but nothing changed. They checked the suspension again and all looked fine.

I left the car there over night to see what they can do tomorrow.
The behaviour is so strange! You start turning the steering wheel and it's very heavy or very soft for 2 seconds, then it suddenly changes weight or suddenly pulls or pushes in a direction. I was literally fighting the car to go in the desired direction.

The lane assist was fully off at all times. In any case, it was behaving the same at all speeds, both in the parking lot and on the road.

Any ideas?
Did they break my steering? How!?

Your car is no more cursed than any other at 163,000+km (100,000+ miles).

Pile on the miles, and stuff will start to break sooner or later.

If I remember correctly, in order to remove that straight arm you have to lower the steering rack, because arm bolt will hit the rack before you can take it out. No need to do anything to tie rods, unless they, for some reason removed tie rods from the rack!! in order to remove that bolt. Make sure all 4 steering rack bolts are back and torqued.

Ok, but to happen while they are working on the car?! What could trigger it?

Thanks! I will check tomorrow, although I expect them to have done it already.
