EK1Pro Tune - Sixth Element

@StingerbyAdoom any update on the launch control progress? Just got my BMS Intercooler, CPI kit, and EK1 soon to arrive.. I'm planning on running 100% EK1 BEF for TCU and ECU

Its currently working for me, we are just trying to work out some bugs here and there. Only problem with it though is that because of the way it works, you cant use the Brake snip with the ECU launch enabled. If I had to guess, its because it does not reference the TCU at all when checking for LC. Not sure if there is a way around it, but progress is being made!

Well I don't have a brake snip and was hoping for a tune that's able to utilize the factory launch control sequence but allows you to build boost. I know the Lozic TCU just removes all the safeties but if the EK1 ultimately allows to set a specific boost and RPM target for a launch.. that would be ideal

It wont be variable, as that data is set inside the tune itself, but I am confident that once the bugs are worked out, it could be set at whatever is requested within reason.

If the weather clears, tomorrow evening I plan to try Terry's BEF on a couple different maps at the track. Currently on map 0, since he says that should be equivalent to map 1 on stock. I think I will mix in a couple gallons of E85 (I can get on the way to the track), so I can try map 1 or 2, as well as with 80/20 on WMI map 7.

I would go the opposite way, start with map7 with an additive of 50, see how your pulls are, then just adjust that accordingly, as it can emulate all the other maps while still having your meth safety. See how it goes using just your 91 and meth first, then add e85 if the logs come back that bad. since you have methanol, there really is no point for any of the other maps besides 6 and 7, as 6 is custom and 7 will emulate any other map you set it to do.

Agree, fixed boost and rpm will do this more safe.

Great!
Thanks for the advice.

Do the launch control settings lie within the ECU or TCU side? TCU is where the torque limitations are set correct?

From my understanding, with just a LOZIC TCU and JB4, you are able to theoretically launch at any RPM and as much boost as you let the car build. Just looking for some clarification as I believe you've referenced working on the ECU tune in relation to the launch.

Ultimately just curious as to whether launch control would have a possibility to work with a Terry ECU BEF and SXTH TCU tune.

Great!

No problem, if you can, start at 50, then do 45, 40, 35, ect till you feel comfortable. post or DM me the logs and ill help you decide what to do after if you want.

Yes, on the lozic side of things, his TCU just uses the brake snip without the extra switch. As does Torks, Lap3s, and even sxths non ecu launch. they are all basically the same. When it comes to sxths ecu based lc, its taking the factory values and changing them, which can cause interesting things to happen because its torque based (as is basically everything in our ecu's), which is what nathan and I are trying to work out. Right now from what terry has told me, he does not have access to the ECU launch files yet, so any launch done on his BEF would be through the TCU.

Appreciate you taking the time to reply! I actually have a much better understanding of what's going on within these tunes now..

So SXTH is really on the cutting edge of this platform right now with potential to create custom launch parameters that allow for consistent and fast launches every time and remove the potential for user error that could potentially have damaging results.

Exciting stuff!

Is there any expected delivery/ship dates for the EK1 Lite? I placed an order with N75 who stated they had it in stock on their website and after emailing today as a followup, it turns out that they do not have any in stock, not super impressed with the misleading website although I will say they replied right away when emailed.

Question also about the EK1 pro, do you have to use the screen in order to utilize that product or can I use it in the same way as the Lite and just use it for flashing. I'm in AZ and think that the screen is likely to get damaged over time from the heat here but I'm feeling impatient on wanting to get the tuner sooner rather than later..

I wish I had answers to the stock question but Im not a sxth employee :(

as for the pro, no, you don't need to keep it plugged into the car, you only need to do that if you want to use the extra features besides flashing that the pro offers.

OK cool thanks for the info there. If the pro plugs into the OBD, I'm not sure what info I'd be robbing the JB4 of that it might need to monitor/log the vehicle.

Seems probably a little silly to pay an extra $200 for the pro and use it like a Lite but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't seriously considering it.. damn impatience lol

I got mine straight from the sxthelement web site, must have been just before they ran out, maybe I got the last one! (Or maybe MFNTBRO) :D

The JB4 can be run from the diagnostic port if need be, if your car has one thats easy to locate like mine was.

Yeah, I tried many permutations of hooking mine up to the diagnostic port and never got it to work, the jb4 never thought it was connected.
Perhaps I have the wrong pins, the connector is a different style.
