EK1Pro Tune - Sixth Element

Terry is amazing
I'm using the burger WMI kit
I have it set for 7.9. for some reason it won't allow me to do 8
Yea, the app is like that, it doesn't like whole numbers. mine is 7.9 as well

Alright, So my Call with @nathan@sxth went very well, extremely knowledgeable guy with quite a bit invested into this platform even though the 3.3's are not the companies main bread and butter. He had answers to everything I could ask him and more. less than half an hour and he solved my pulsating issue. The car feels so much better now, and he is 99% certain he already has a solution for the ECU launching issues that many of us have been facing. He is going to send me a revised version of that later today so that we can test that as well. 11/10 service.

What version of this tune are you currently on?
I see that the tune available for my (and MFNTBRO) ID is 1.00. I don't know if this is reflective of what you have worked out with Nathan to date, if so, but your ID is different, then I wonder if it would make sense to use the same version number so it is based on the tune itself, not just which is first for that ID.
Basically what I am trying to say, is if the actual tune parameters are equivalent across the different ID's they should have the same version. If your current version is say 1.02, then the one for my ID based on the same parameters should also be 1.02. This allows customers to compare the tune itself regardless of the ID.
Now, the notion of the ID may be much more complex, I don't know exactly what the different ID's across the same model vehicles represent.

The IDs are all very, very different so version numbers are always specific to IDs.

which tune are you referring to? TCU or ECU? Because I am currently using a Tune built specifically for @AWDGT2 then modified for my use, so the numbers will change once revisions are met.

Ok so I bought and uploaded the Stage 2 93 octane tune and did some pulls with the JB4 on Map 0. I have some crazy timing issues but I don't think its related to the tune as I had crazy timing issues on the last pull I did with the JB4 on Map 3 with E30. Car felt good aside from that. ISG feature wasn't disabled. I have a message to Nathan about that. I can't give a good opinion because of my timing issues but the tune felt like Map3 to me.

Try disconnecting the vehicle battery (negative cable) for a few minutes so it erases its adaptation values. This might help with timing corrections since it will relearn with the new tune.

I'll try it but I'm not optimistic because I had done that a few days ago when these timing corrections were wacky with the JB4

They're HKS plugs about a year old but I didn't install them. I'm beginning to think they weren't gapped properly.
Quite possible. I ordered an extra set during k8stringer store's year end sale, they are supposedly "pre-gapped", but they were all close to .027 to .028. I re-gapped them to .024, but I haven't installed them yet.

I actually just gapped my HKS plugs to 0.022 and im getting more pull in each cylinder, though it could be a coincidence. 0.024 might be the play.

I've heard .022 to .024 is the sweet spot.

Interesting. That's where I got mine. I just ordered another set. Process of elimination.

I have my Hks plugs gapped to 0.022 for the jb4 but with the Sxth tunes or BEF can they be closer to what they ship with as around .028? I plan on getting the ek1 lite as soon as it’s off back order since I’m installing CPI soon. I’d rather not have to gap those plugs again next time I need to since they were kind of a pain to gap.

I used those too flmao but I like to make things difficult. I started out with the first 4 plugs fine and ended up breaking the last 2 when I went too far on closing the gap and had to use that tool to open them up. I think I ended up spending close to $200 on plugs all send and done.

Yeah LOL.
Small, VERY small adjustments.
I took about 5 minutes per plug, like 1/8 turn then check, then another 1/8 until they were right.

Yeah for sure. I got way overzealous.
