M&S rear diffuser from eBay

Oh hell no. I would never let them do all of that. I wouldn't even want a Kia tech doing that much.

I might have to plasti dip the antenna if they can't wrap it.
exactly my sentiments !! thats a key reason why I'm leaning towards painting the roof

K , I'm working on a 10 member group buy for "G" style MS rear spoiler ...................should know soon

Do you have a separate thread for this? Colour me interested, though I'd prefer the S style, and paint matched.

I just ordered the S style. Should be here next week.

I'm really curious to see how low you can get the price with a group buy though.
Nice! Please let us know what you think of the quality of the materials and if it's similar to how I described the diffuser.

Thanks!

Will do.

I got the rear diffuser on eBay when there was a $15 off coupon. Fits well and easy enough to install but it is really cheap plastic. Super flimsy but I guess it weighs practically next to nothing. It's like the plastic that you can push with a little strength and crease it. Should've paid attention that its made of ABS plastic but I think it should be thicker. Definitely expensive but it does fit spot on. Time will tell in regards to the durability but here's a photo of it for those interested.

I think it looks pretty good from what you said about the cheap plastic I guess as long as you don't live in the snow country, or Wyoming where the wind blows everything away , and you have to go to Nebraska or Iowa to find it , you'll be in good shape.

When I get confirmation on pricing , but it would be good to get a sense of which spoiler the members wants , so far I think I may be the only deviant here wanting the G style

Did you get it yet? Any thoughts on the quality?

i prefer the G style also, looks "cleaner" IMO

The "quality" on ALL M&S ABS products is excellent. Just because something is thin doesn't mean it's low quality or is going to get damaged easily. The spoilers are the same thing as the diffuser. As long as you don't hit something or someone doesn't hit you, then the parts aren't expected to break from regular everyday driving conditions. Same as the OEM parts on the car.

I feel you. Just felt pretty flimsy. Fit and finish are pretty good. Not saying it's bad quality but could be better. I've worked at custom fab shops and a place that sells body kits so I've seen the possibilities.

Just wondering if the rear wing is similar to the diffuser in thickness.

Although rare, higher speed will have more of an impact on the rear wing than the diffuser and should be thicker

So the spoiler seems like it'll hold up well?

It seems sturdy enough to withstand the effects of wind whipping onto it.

I wouldn't use it as a club though.

Since you're here I might as well ask....how close of a paint colour match can you get if one were to get the diffuser and/or spoiler painted? I have the snow white pearl - I don't know the colour code but how good of a match can you get?

Based on the description @Beege gave of the diffuser and my personal experience with the spoiler I disagree.
It's the same material though. Can you elaborate on what you're comparing them to?

I hear ya, though I know M&S made these thin for a reason--most notably to keep the cost down and to allow flex. Are there thicker ABS products out there? Sure, we know that. I just think for such a small piece which is purely for cosmetic use only there's not much reason to make it any thicker. From what I've seen, the spoiler is the same, but you'd have to be going damn fast for it to get damaged by wind. If something else hits the spoiler going that fast, then you'd probably be worried about other parts of the car first and not an inexpensive spoiler! ;)

Haha so true on that one. Maybe you can poke someone's eye out, but that's about it.

SWP paint code? We've done a couple parts in that color and haven't had any comments either way. I'm sure if it DIDN'T match then we'd sure as heck know about it! Our paint shop uses the original paint mix, so it shouldn't be any different than what's on the car. So far so good though, albeit a small sample.

For anyone looking to get this diffuser, it does not fit the non GT models. I have a premium and recieved it yesterday. Does not fit. Doesn't line up at all .listed as compatible with all models but I'm thinking it only fits the GT .

Can you post some pics? Or if it's easier, just email them to sales@importshark.com

We have the Type S and had it color matched to the black trim. The sides are not a perfect match. It does look very nice attached.

We also tried to install the diffuser but we couldn’t get the alignment right. It may have because we were using a thicker and wider 3M tape than supplied, I attached a regency picture.

As has been noted, both the spoiler and diffuser are very light. Seems like the double sided tape will be sufficient to hold both products in place.
