Door power question

Going to be wiring in an ambient LED system all throughout the car

Each door comes with it's own controller that connects to each other wirelessly but needs 12v power to each controller

Anyone aware of if there's a 12v constant power in each door? Guessing to control the windows should have that

From a video I found it looks like there's a harness.

Anyone got a diagram know which wires to tap into?

Pretty much anything not in there would require you to access via Kia's KGIS (which requires a subscription).

In case anyone else needs this info

From testing the harness all pins are no power except for the battery (pin 10)

Ill attach the wiring portion below


All other portions are no power when the cars off


I needed this for car interior ambient lighting for each door

The best option and what I settled on was the Illumination pin (6) which gives 12v at night or when your headlights are on

So during the day the lights are off unless you put on headlights or parking lights
And if on auto, automatically turns on at night


This is just for the rear, but front should be the same, will finish this project next week for the front doors

update: passenger door is good




driver side seems odd tho, it does have illumination but no specifications on the diagram of which one is illumination
and there's 2 grounds

will have to bust out the volt meter again for this one

is this that one kit from the company in Australia?

not familiar with one from australia but probably similar?
its called symphony ambient lighting kit from aliexpress/china (it's like $100 for the kit)

Looking at the diagrams already provided in this post, it does not look like there is power (hence why the OP used illumination and the ambient only works with lights on).
Finding constant hot (if there is one) is the easiest thing in the world to do, just unplug the harness, then with multimeter or probe, connect to ground and then (with car fully off) test the pins.

Also hows your jb4 do you get alot of codes or limp mode when flooring it hard looking into them
So far i got aem intake xforce exhaust system with mid/downpipes

No codes or any issues at all with my JB4. Granted, I keep it mostly on Map 1 since I I am not running WMI or mixing gas

Correct, map 2 is for 93 octane.
Unfortunately there is no 93 octane where I live. There is one gas station that caries I believe 101 octane racing gas, and absolutely everywhere else tops out at 91 octane.

Do you recall what you used for constant power? My front passenger door doesn’t seem to have one
