Awd To Rwd By Pulling The Fuse

Not sure why it flipped the first pic upside down... latched push button to engage or disengage fwd. Run wires to the fuse box. Take the fuse out and insert connectors where the fuse was. Move the fuse 12" up the line on the hot side wire. Done

Interesting. Ive been looking into a way to make it a wireless receiver. The difficult part is finding a receiver that can default to the ON setting, so the car always defaults to the AWD being enabled unless told otherwise.

That button install is very clean. If you're interested in something slick on the wiring side, they make a bunch of styles of connectors that have the form factor of a stock fuse but with takeoff leads, inline fuses, extra fused lines, etc. If you search "micro fuse tap" or "mini fuse tap" there are all kinds of options for pretty cheap.

Thanks. I work in a shop that has access to a few things and that was just a spur of the moment mod. The ring around the button lights up so I can see where the hell it is. I will eventually clean up the under hood part of the install.

Is the light blue? It seems to be the exact type of button that Bastuck add to the dash to open/close the valve on their custom exhaust.

When in "race mode" (valve open regardless of speed) the light blinks rapidly and at night it reflects in the side window, I hate it :)

Oh man, not the greatest location for that button. You could maybe use a black marker to go over the blue ring and dim it down a bit. I put mine in the fuse panel door so it would be an easy removal and cheap replacement panel if I decided to take it out. White ring on mine by the way.

Ive been wondering this for a while myself.

My 19 Stinger didn't put up a warning light when I pulled the fuse. My 22 does, has a yellow light come on and stays on as long as the fuse is out.

Since this is the Actimax system by Magna, I wonder if there are any technical docs the smart people can look at, that will tell us if leaving the fuse out will hurt anything. I'm hoping it merely leaves the coupler 'unlocked'.
My Canadian 22 elite does the same

I switch between AWD and RWD by a simple push button. Does not matter if the car is on or off. It doesn't care. No dummy lights. I could be wrong. I'll let you know if it leaves me stranded somewhere with the front end smoking.
Did you install the button or is it factory for the D-AWD
