Lozic ECU + TCU + AWD Tune

Hey guys, Looking for opinions before I buy a Lozic TCU. I'm awd 3.3tt. A lot of posts say No to launch control torque limit. What's the sweet spot for launching? feather rev to 2400, let go of brake, and slam the gas? Are a lot of people choosing "more powerful sport shift pattern?" And my last concern was the smooth 2-1 downshift but I've seen more yes than naa. Otherwise choosing -8%, pressure 2, awd transfer 2.
Read my post #3856 above. Works for me with the same TCU setup.

You definitely want Torque limits off. That way you can launch on more boost. Everyone seems to launch differently.. some feather it and some just mash the pedal from the start. Me personally- I hold the brake, mash the gas to the floor- then 2,400ish rpm let off the brake. I don’t have the more powerful sport shift pattern on and know I wouldn’t like it. The downshift is already aggressive enough for me. And I like the smooth option as well. And sorry no opinion on the AWD tune- I don’t have it. I have heard it’s only helpful on track and not straight line. So not worth the $ to me. Hopefully that helps.

The fastest G70 in the world launches at 1800. Unless you're faster then a 10.7@128mph, you may want to give it a shot.
Different TCU builds boost differently. You can’t cross compare launching RPM like that. Besides, SXTH can build boost with ECU so it can be more different.

Sure but I was making a suggestion. Not all Lozic tunes are the same either. Maybe it would work for him... maybe not.

Oh definitely. His tune is updating small things here and there constantly too.

That's about the setup I got. I did do smooth downshift. I also have boost ready on at 2,200 and can't say I've ever noticed any issue with it, but it is very responsive in sport mode. I love it. I can't launch over 2,200 on the street. Even clean warm pavement I spin (awd). I did do the "more powerful sport shift pattern". I understand its similar to the sport + the g70 has. I like it a lot. I always drive in sport. The gas pedal is very sensitive, but when driving normally it is just fine yet extremely responsive. When you start driving aggressively it starts holding gears and downshifting into corners. I'm very happy I did it. Much more like a sports car.

When you say boost ready, do you mean the launch control torque limit? Does the sport shift pattern change the pedal sensitivity like a pedal commander? I always felt like the sport mode was pretty 1:1 or at least I was happy with it so I def don't want to change it but if it's just more aggressive gear selection absolutely.

I'm so sorry. I got my ecu and tcu at the same time so I'm always confusing the options. I missed that you're doing just tcu. Forget everything I said as it's all ecu stuff.

No, I appreciate the input. Surely the pedal sensitivity is more tcu than ecu based right? The shifting pattern def is and it sounds like you like that aspect. I just don't want a pedal commander type thing tbh so I wanted to clarify before I check that box. I'll have a JB4 connected this week so the awd spin will also be a consideration for me as far as the launch control limit.

I am running a jb4, map 7, WMI running 11.80 1/4 mile. I figure I must be close to 500HP, and I launch at 2600 RPM or so, and I don't have wheel spin.

bet. So I'll do the no torque limit. Seems to be the consensus. Are you running the sport shift pattern too? That seems more 50:50

I bought mine from a fellow forum member about a year ago, it was set with "sport+", I assume that is what you are referring to. Details are in my signature.

Yeahhhhh those are the settings i'm going with too. The sport+ is what I mean yeah. You're happy with how it behaves compared to stock sport transmission mode?

Yeah, I like it, no problem for me.

Hi guys, my car have been making this noise for the past 2-3k miles, and I have looked everywhere and asked everyone and no one seems to know what is happening. This whistle sound only happens when I fully accelerate when going 60-70mph, and the sound will fade away at 110-115mph. If I go full throttle from a dead stop nothing well be heard or if I accelerate normally, which I did to 150mph again nothing can be heard.
Things that I did to try to find the issue:
1-I checked all the vacuum lines.
2-I cleaned and applied silicone to all the doors seals.
3- vacuum tested both POVs, and both held -10psi.
4-tested both turbos by putting the JB4 in map8.
5-took the car to the dealership, they said it's wind noise normal (normal my ass).
Sorry for the bad writing English isn't my first language.

I did have this sound to with my old engine that later broke with headgasket, broken pistons, 4:th cylinder and like a fan from oil filling cap when opening and revving.
If you have a catch can it can wizzle from that if check valve isnt hold when full boost at higher revs.
No need to boost over 20 psi as headgasket and headbolts are a problem.
I think I posted my sound here in a thread, search my posts and you find it, its similar...

If I rev the car to 5000RPM I hear nothing, also I do have oil catch can and I will remove it and check if it helps.
Also when I remove the oil cap there's vacuum holding the cap, coolant level is the same for the past 2 years, no blue, or white smoke from the exhaust.

Ok, good. Hope you find whats make the sound.
For me, I had blow by, by the pistons, 3 and 4 I think and headgasket. It was found out when KIA after the engine broke did a leakdown test.

Now, $20 k later I have a new engine and I also stay away from LAP3 tunes that have killed several engines. Its not only about boost, better with good fuel, better timing and max 20 psi.
Also everyone should try to avoid boost overshoot as cylinder pressure goes skyhigh, feels great with a lot of torque in 1-2 second but not worth it.
Many tuners now focus on stable boost and thats good.

I'm with you on over boosting, I have always kept my car at 18 psi max, and I just took off the OCC going to test the car later today hopefully that's solve it.

Good thinking! Good luck and let us know.
