So I installed Lozic ECU tune and running jb4 on map 6 with bits 0 and bits 6 enabled. I lowered my FF to 40 which helped the overboosting issue (was getting up to 24psi). However my ign2-ign6 is getting up 9. Was wondering why it’s getting so high when normally when I was running just the jb4 it was only around 3-3.5 I’m running 93 octane. Attached is my log, if you could help. Thanks

I know on mine it takes roughly 100-150 miles for the ecu to learn. ign2-6 go crazy for that short time its learning, after that its all zeros.

That would be great if that’s what the issue is. Are you running Lozic ECU or just JB4? I went ahead and put 2.5 gal of E85 hoping it would help some. Should I wait until that 100-150 mile mark before doing some pulls?

i have lozic 1.5. i would wait and let the ecu learn. On mine when i swap the ecu in i keep an eye on ign2-6. itll go crazy even when i barely touch the pedal. after that certain mileage marker itll be all zeros. i put at least 2 of the ign2-6 on the jb4 gauges on my phone and drive around

Awesome I’ll take it easy and put some ign2-6 on the jb4 display. Also are you running map 6 with bit 0 and bit 6 enabled? I’m using the EWG connectors too with FF set to 40. I was over boosting (up to 24psi) but by setting FF to 40 I’m at 22psi now.

yes bit 0 and bit 6 are enabled on mine. i ve never had overboost issues on mine but ive added 1-2 lbs on the top end at the track using the ewg connectors. without it im usually anywhere between 19 and 21 psi wot.

Ign 9 is very high. Fyi, I have to run e30 to keep timing corrections under 3. Do you have ethanol available?

You might want to upgrade the jb4 firmware, you are running 24, the latest stable is 28.

Yeah I have E85 available. They Lozic tune was for 93 octane but I can run E30 if needed. Are you running Lozic ECU also?

Yes lozic. 1.3 bar I believe it was .

What plugs are you running?

HKS M45IL’s. My ign2-ign6 didn’t get above 3 when I was running jb4 only. I had just installed my Lozic ECU/TCU tune and now I’m seeing the bad ignition timing.
Need to let ecu adapt. I did 100 miles on mine before a serious pull. Also, try downshifting and taking off around 4K RPM before a pull.

Yeah that’s what I’m going to do, let the ECU adapt for a bit before I get aggressive. And I’ll try it.

You should take off lozic ECU and ask for revision immediately. You’re paying for a full tune, relying on JB4 to fix a boost problem is not acceptable for what you’re paying for. Lozic will fix it his side for sure.

This amount of timing pull is too much and unsafe. You need to go for 1.3 bar tune for pump gas only or WMI/CPI if you ever consider 1.4 bar and above.

Also EWG and flashed tune can be playing with fire. There are some permanent code can be triggered and wouldn’t go away with regular ECU reset we’ve been doing. If that ever happened to you, another spare ECU from lozic is the only solution.
