Well, it was a long six (6) year adventure with my Brilliant Red 2011 Audi S4, she has been treating me very well. With all the ups and downs, the fun and smiles I get from hearing the super charger whine, I decided to let her go. I then bought a 2022 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy in sierra burgundy with black nappa leather. Months later, I was very fortunate to stumble upon a 2018 Micro Blue Pearl with light grey leather interior Kia Stinger GT2 AWD, with only 21,721 miles at 33.2k out the door.

The vehicle was previously a lease vehicle and I couldn't pass up on the price tag it had in my area, and to put that in perspective, 40k miles with same trim and year goes for $38K or more, so I got very lucky. Pulled the trigger and started the paper work and that's all she wrote.

This is my first turbo car and if you have any input on what I need to look out for or what mods to do first as preventative, please let me know!

I get to say it first, sway bars. the gt trims all benefit greatly from sway bars, as the oem sway bars are safe handling but not exactly comfortable when cornering hard, there is a tendency in the rear to 'step out' and a 'hop' when undulations in the surface. sways reduce body roll and the steering feedback is made nearly perfect at all cornering speeds, the understeer is pretty much eliminated by a front sway bar upgrade. I'll share that much and let others make other suggestions.

Keep your oil fresh if you drive hard, enjoy.

Oil catch can
Sway bars and springs.
Change out the plugs for something better, I like the Denso.
Front brake pads that don't suck.
Cat back
Tune

First thing I did was sway bars and atq sub frame collars. Car was much smoother after that.

I didn’t start touching the engine until just recently after 11k miles.

There’s a good amount performance aftermarket support for this platform. Plenty to look into!

Welcome to the hive! As said, sway bars, pad swap, and enjoy!

Do you have an instagram for your audi, and now your stinger? Im pretty sure ive seen your audi on insta when it was wrapped like that. Such a clean car. Welcome to the "I cant believe its a Kia!" club!

Oil catch can!

Hey hle1992!

Congratulations on your first Stinger! Welcome to the community.

I would recommend right away to do an oil catch can, it will preserve the life of your engine over time, GDI engines are the perfect candidate for them. We have them available at the K8 Stinger Store Here!
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

thank you for all the input, I plan to do the AFE intake, Mishimoto direct-fit catch can, and Eibach sway bars, I'm not planning on lowering the vehicle yet, my priority is to have the vehicle running well and smoothly since I drive roughly 40miles a day, to and from work.

Per to the sway bars, is it necessary to have a front and rear?

Not necessary but the front bar improves turn in dramatically

as I said, rear end movement is reduced and steering feedback improves noticeably; the rear bar handles the rear stuff and the front bar takes care of the steering feel and does more to reduce body roll than the rear bar, but the Stinger doesn't have a lot of body roll to begin with. quite a few owners put the rear bar in first and get a feel for the difference then put the front bar in. some run with just the rear bar as the stepping out under hard cornering, and the 'bunny hop,' are annoying if not alarming. I haven't heard of anyone just running the front sway bar because the improved steering feel is secondary to eliminating the rear handling quirkiness.

I see what you're saying: list-wise, catch can, intake, then rear sway bars. After driving the vehicle, the brake has been fine, and when I start noticing any changes, ill replace them when needed. Maintenance-wise, I'm very on top of oil changes, is there a site where I can buy the whole oil change kit? When I had the Audi, I usually purchase the kit through ECS tuning.

I've just done oil changes at the dealership so I'm no help for other recommendations. also have never had issues with the oem brakes. have driven both 2.0l and 3.3l Stingers and find the lighter premium, even as awd, to be more nimble than the heavier 3.3l. the gt can definitely benefit from sway bars upgrade as described. and maybe the 2.0l also benefits, I just wouldn't know having not experienced the difference in that trim, and mine as I say feels very planted and handles really well with the oem sways.

the sway bars will come into play later on I'm guessing, I mainly just travel to work and home, never much of a tracker or speed racer. So far, its a really nice upgrade from the 2011 Audi S4, with all the technology and the bang for the buck, cannot pass it up.

The car has a bit of "float" in turns, the sways really make a huge difference even as a daily.

I've recently taken a few longer turns with some additional 'spirit', and thought about the suggestions on the forum to upgrade the rear sway bars in particular. Although I won't be doing this, it's clear to me after approaching the vehicle's edge a bit that the upgrade would definitely help.

Not real "kits" for oil changes that I can find. I just get the filter from the dealer and get oil from wherever, most like the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum full synth.

ill see how well the car performs, and think about the sway bar upgrade in the later future. I have used Liquid Moly due to the Audi, what recommendations do y'all have? Does this vehicle have oil consumption.

Thank you for everyone's input, I appreciate it!

My first thing to do on this vehicle swaps out the emblems, and replace them with the ones from Korea, and the rear will have the stinger logo.
