Ah, so the question becomes capture efficiency and price. I obviously don't know enough about those filters to conclude / compare with K&N, but typically high flow runs contrary to good particulate capture, and without oil and trying to remain competitive as a high flow option there's of course some compromise there (this is true for both, but oiled filters try to eliminate/compensate for the lower particulate capture issue).

I tried researching an answer to that question a while ago. The best explanation I got was from the aFepower website. The Pro 5R is oiled and the Pro Dry S is well...you know. The difference in flow may be close to negligible.
Any intake that allows you to actually hear the turbos on this car is worth it imo. No point in having turbos that you can't hear. I'm probably biased though as I'm used to hearing the blower whine on my truck. That was probably one of the first things I had to change on this car and my car is basically stock. Still love the sound they make, although it's winter time now so the car is driven at a snails pace most days.
I went with the AEM with dry filters but the K&N one looks cleaner/better imo.
I don't understand why they didn't make an intake with a lid of some sort, similar to stuff that aftermarket companies were making for GM cars a years back, like this:

Right but people have said that you don't get any sound with these. The intakes I had on my Grand Prixs, which looked like the one I posted, were enclosed but still gave you a much louder sound. Although they weren't turbo cars obviously.
Yeah, I'm very pleased with the intakes. They pair very nicely with ram air ducts for a very efficient ram air intake setup. Cleaning can be a bit of a hassle since they're enclosed and the cold side aFe charge pipe I have takes up some more space. I'm getting a Lap3 tune soon to replace my Racechip GTS so I'll most likely see more of an improvement.
I have a 2023 Kia Stinger GT2 RWD (Ceramic Silver / Red Leather) and I was wondering if adding a K&N Cold Air Intake system was worth it? I have one on my 2014 Tundra and I love it. BUT with the twin-turbos, you hear a 'pssst' noise as the gas is let off and I am afraid that will become annoying as hell. Any input?
Just put on Injen Intakes for my 22 GT1 AWD, daily driver. Definitely hear a difference on the daily. I drive in Sports Mode only, whenever I want to speed up, even a little bit, youll hear the intakes taking in air. They’re kinda loud and noticeable. It all depends on what you’re looking for. It makes my car faster and I personally like the sound of a non stock stinger hitting the gas and letting the intakes sound off. I’m not doing a BOV, too much noise for me. I like where my stinger is at noise wise, and it adds power to your car too! Just giving you my experience!
I used to like internal combustion noises, whether it's exhaust, intake, or anything in-between... especially sportbikes. Swapping out exhaust on a new bike was a must.
These days, I wear earplugs when I ride. When I'm driving on the road, I prefer a quiet car, so I can make best use of the audio system. Don't need to hear whoosh-whoosh to know my turbo is working. The only exception is at the AutoX or track day, where I can't afford to take eyes off the course, so listening to the exhaust note helps to know when to shift.

I unfortunately bought a Racechip GTS awhile ago because it was on sale and didn't do much research prior. I have yet to put it on but, has it given you any issues? How's it been for you?

Same here, I got the GTS with the Bluetooth control on sale so I only paid 450USD. I enjoyed the GTS a lot actually. It won't yield the highest gains but it still makes the car pretty quick (map 7 GTS is somewhat comparable the map 2 JB4). I haven't had any issues in the 16500+ miles it's been on my car. I have my oil changed every 3k miles and make sure to use HKS plugs that are gapped correctly and you should be great.
I'm going with a Lap3 tune for a smoother experience. Piggybacks are smooth but they will never beat a full ECU tune. Plus I think my bolt-ons will scale better with an ECU tune.

I appreciate you responding. I have been scared to put it on ever since I read somewhere that it was causing knocking. I think eventually will get the lap3 or jb4, but I bought my racechip on sale as well, so I may as well get my $'s worth.

No prob, at the end of the day Racechip is a sizable company that supports many brands of cars like VW, BMW, Porsche, and Audi. I couldn't see a company like them releasing a product without proper R&D. If are interested in seeing live OBD2 data from you car, I recommend getting a good ELM327 Bluetooth module and using the Car Scanner Pro app. The app is 5 dollars for the full version and it's great.
