2020 Stinger GT2 awd. No codes. Drives fine. When I switch to sport mode it doesn’t engage. The rpm’s stay the same and it drives like I didn’t switch to sport mode. Any thoughts or input greatly appreciated.

Does the knob still have resistance like its changing modes when you turn it?

does your gauge cluster show it as being in sport mode? do the other modes work/change aka, eco mode/smart?

very strange. It seems to be engaging now. Not sure whats up. Thanks for taking the time
that is strange... just to verify when it wasn't working properly, were you by chance in cruise control? if you are, the cruise control overrides the gear position until it's cancelled...

was not. it was pulling out of garage in the morning and switching to Sport mode within a block.

I've seen some weirdness when switching modes while rolling. Either in reverse / just switched out of reverse and switching modes at that point. I get a transmission light (I think) and the car runs in severe limp mode (can barely move at all). Turning it off and on again has always solved that. My new habit is never switch while rolling - either while stopped with foot on the brake / in park, or while actually driving with foot on the throttle. Not sure if related or not.

I've only ever switched while rolling. Even switched while accelerating hard. Never noticed any issues. Only the increased sensitivity of the throttle .

I think that the engine has to warm up before the ECU will deliver Sport mapping.

I switch between comfort and sport all the time while rolling and never had a problem.

No issues switching on a roll here either but I do avoid it if I can because the car sort of jerks when you do it on a roll. I always take my foot off the throttle when I do though.

That's really strange. I've had 3 different stingers in the past including my current 2023 one that never had this behavior. I generally switch modes as I am just driving regularly. I literally put my car like 80% of the time in custom when I turn it on in the morning after I've warmed up the engine but I've done it from cost start too never had a problem. I dunno maybe try disconnecting the battery let it sit for a while to reset things.
