Used stinger broke down a day after buying!

I hope you don’t mean enough noise stock as it sounds pretty terrible for the price stock. I’m 19 and want my car to sound good. I hope to sit next to a stinger at a light some day! I don’t want it to be clapped out and annoying but still moderately loud

Thinking of doing that soon just concerned about the warranty. Kinda need it as this is my first enthusiast car and I’m still learning

If anyone has any recommendations for tips or anywhere I can buy them through at least a somewhat reputable site like eBay or Amazon or if anyone had any in Las Vegas lmk!!!

And wow this thread has derailed. Lol!

The only thing you'll have to worry about, warranty wise is the warranty on your exhaust. In theory, if there is an issue with your DPs or mids they can refuse to repair it under warranty. But exhaust systems don't normally have issues anyway, so I wouldn't worry much about that.

Do what you want with your money/car. f**k any self-righteous sanctimonious clown who tells you what you should or shouldn't do with something your money is paying for. It's your property, no matter how important he believes his opinions to be, they should mean absolutely nothing regarding how you choose to mod your car. Enjoy it!

MBRP is plenty loud.

I got some Akropovic tips from Ebay.

However with the round tips you have to cut the area where the stock tips are to get them to fit. If you go with oval tips you don't have to cut.

63mm by 105mm would fit without cutting.

Is this something I can add after I have the shop install the catback or do I need to do them both at the same time? Because it says they won’t come for like a month meanwhile my MBRP comes in a few days. What is your recommendation

I’m still considering the ramps/Jack thing but IDK. Undecided. Not sure what exact tools I would need as far as socket sizing and stuff

MBRP exhaust is not much above stock. You will need to add secondary downpipes to get some sound out of them.
I always thought MBRP was one of the louder available options.

I assumed the order from quiet to loud is:
Stock
Magnaflow
Thermal
MBRP
Ark
Borla

Then there's JunBl and the assortment of straight pipe options Tork used to sell, which I assume are crazy loud.

You can do them after, just remove the rear lower valance.

The worst bolt to undo and get at was the upper nut on the flange at the front, glad I have a cordless impact.

Ramps are easier to get the car on. Jack and stands are more versatile and take up less garage space. Sockets are sold in a set so just grab a nice quality set and it should have the sizes you need.

if you're going to pay to have the exhaust installed, take the tips with you. they'll line everything up perfectly, or at least my shop did. All exhausts need a little adjusting to get them to sit perfect. if you don't take the tips with you they may not center the pipes in the holes, leading to grief when you try to put them in. it is also easier to remove the stock fake tips when the muffler cans are out of the way.

or you can take it back to them once you get the tips, but of course that likely means paying for more labor.

Just take the stock chrome looking exhaust ovals off and put the Akropovic tips on.
That's what I did it looks clean.

Man that sucks! I was really hoping to get the exhaust on before the semester starts

Hey everyone so I’m really struggling to get a good video of the rattling/ticking noise while driving. So firstly here is a video from inside. It sounds like it is layered beneath the engine noise if that makes sense. The phone is having a hard time picking up the noise but I swear it’s coming from the engine area.

HOWEVER, this may be unrelated or maybe this is it, I heard this noise after pulling over, turning the car off and turning it back on. Loud annoying clicking, the video doesn’t do it justice. What is this?

The loud ticking in your engine video is the high pressure fuel pump. Normal sound.

Ok just checking thanks. I just know something isn’t right with the inside cabin noise while driving. It really sound like it’s coming from the engine . I’m hearing noises that I didn’t hear on the other stingers I drove

Borla catbak exhaust isn't even that loud. Its nowhere near straightpipes level. Pretty happy with mine. Drone was bad before i added exhaust tips though.

After I put the MBRP on I had the wife and trust me she had no clue a different exhaust was on. I said to her notice any difference in the car. She says no why did you do something. So you would think if it’s “loud” those sensitive little female ears would have picked it up. Now I did put tips on from the get go so I can’t speak to the no tips sound.

Hope I don’t get buyers remorse:confused:

You should definitely do some back reading. It’s particularly good when the boys start roll’in around in the sandbox. Someone’s soother must have got some sand on it or something.

OPs problem was due to loose wiring connector.

Unfortunately I was the catalyst for it going political.
I replied to a user, which sparked others to chime in, and then sparked the whole back and forth ordeal between them and the user I first replied to.

Resolution is midway thru page 3... it all went downhill from there :p

I just read the whole thread...quite entertaining. I'll be completely honest though, as of this moment I have no idea what this thread was about or any resolution. I do know though...that I can buy ramps at walmart, use them and then return them! On the website now!!
