Interesting Discoveries Thread (Good or Bad)

Not sure if it really opens the vents, or just that when you crack the sunroof vent, you have provided an exhaust for the vents to flow without backing up.
After I made my post I stopped being lazy and looked it up in the manual lol. This is what the manual says:

You get a nice air flow by cracking the pass window, vent sunroof, and pass rear.

Wish I knew this a year ago: When using Android Auto the power button on the dash functions as pause/play in AA. This is way better than muting my music while in drive thru and missing the song!

Interesting, with my 22 if I hit the mute button on the steering wheel it also pauses my AA music. Only reason I know that is because I'm using the split screen AA so I see both waze and my music player. When I hit the mute button, the pause button on the LCD display changes to a play button. Just find it weird that the play/pause button doesn't play/pause in AA.

When browsing the manual earlier, I found this as well. Not sure its something I'd ever take advantage of but its interesting to know the glove box can be heated.

When was the last time if ever you have updated your cars infotainment system? if you like it the way it is now, then dont update. if its anything like on the older models, this feature is changed in the newer updates and I very strongly dislike that it was changed.

I installed the most recent update a few days after it came out. I don't really mind the way it behaves (the odd mute/pause on AA, and AA not using the play/pause function). It was honestly the first time I even tried it since I got the car in December.

alright, you lucky bugger then. On the older system with the smaller screens, the mute button doesn't pause anymore and I am way more salty about it than I should be.

once the sunroof shade is pulled back, you can press once the back of the sunroof button and it makes just the back tip of the sunroof go up.

Yep, that's the sunroof vent function.

There's an easier way too! Anytime the sunroof is closed, you can just push the sunroof button inwards. Don't slide/click it forward or backwards like you normally would. Just push the button in. This will also open the sunroof to vent. You can do this when the shade is fully closed as well. The car will open the shade first, and then crack open the sunroof for the vent function.

The one thing I miss with the vent function though, is that since the shade is also motorized and controlled by the sunroof "computer", you can't open the vent, but leave the shade closed. This would be nice when parking the car to let it vent the heat, but not let in the sunlight which creates more heat.
My 2010 Ford had a manual shade, so I could do the vent function, but close the shade.

I wish the Stinger had this function too. It does seem like an oversight that it can't do this.

Lol, the indicated speed that has been added to the NAV screen in the last few updates, does not keep up with Sport Mode, kickdown switch accelerations. I went swiftly around a curve and the way was open and I hit it, and my wife said, "Keep under sixty", and as I glanced over it showed 58 and I let off: the indicated speed instantly jumped to 69. A bit buggy I'd say.

Did the split screen AA disappear with the latest update?

With the April update (in the US at least) which is the most recent I have split screen AA (two AA screens).

When I picked up my 2020 last month I updated the software and it completely changed the UI to the new style (looks like it was never updated before). I'm not able to figure out how to get the split screen. Not sure if it's an option or if I'm missing something.

only the models with the 10 inch screen (2022) can officially do split screen as of right now. there are ways to get around it obviously, but it changes the layout of AA in a strange way via a DPI adjustment and its just not comfortable.

Thanks for the clarification.
