Lozic ECU + TCU + AWD Tune

Anyone else notice Lozic ECU is happy to retard timing if you use lower octane gas but doesn't improve timing once you put high octane gas in?

It took a 20 minute battery disconnect to get back to 0 retard timings even with healthy dose of e85. Had consistent -3 timings regardless of better fuel until reset.

How long are you giving it to adjust after providing it higher octane gas?

More than tank full.

Yeah that seems contrary to what I've been told previously (that it should adjust within about 100 miles or something). That's annoying. Have you contacted Lozic?

I'm considering a retune for hfc primaries so I'll talk to Lozic about it then.

actually one normal drive with 3-4 full throttle pull can pretty much reset it for me according to my log.

Is anyone willing to share their logs from their 1/4 mile runs? Would like to compare to what I pulled down from my last runs

I'm in the same boat but its less noticeable because most of the 93 is pretty garbage around me, But I was also thinking of just installing a battery cut off switch to make it easier to do.

Do it! You will see nice gains from high-flow primaries. Maybe even more going completely catless but with catless comes fumes...

Full disclosure: Since I upgraded to high-flow primaries and catless secondaries I have noticed some oil consumption. Approximately 1/4qt per 1k miles. No smoke coming out the tailpipe. I borescoped the driver's side turbo and it looked clean. When I get time I'm going to scope the passenger side.

From what I've read it's fairly common to see some oil consumption when upgrading dp. Lozic said I shouldn't see a increase in oil consumption. But lots of other platforms run into this problem. I'm not to concerned about the oil consumption as long as it stays where it's at. And I'm keeping Lozic updated on the situation including taking his advice.

What kind of oil are you running? More specifically, what thickness? 30 or 40?

Would Lozic tune void my warranty if I swap to stock ecu if something happens could the dealership find out somehow ?

could they? Yea. Would they? Probably not

No, they cant as long ECU isnt flashed and stock TCU also is in.

Anyone ever had their order stuck at “Ready for customs clearance - Incheon Hub”? When tracking my order, it’s been stuck there for a few days now and stopped updating.

If they dig hard enough they could probably find out, however Kia techs don't get paid enough to care. As long as you follow these steps, you will 99% be fine
1. Swap the Factory ECU back in after said issue has occurred
2. Start the car, then turn off the car.
3. Disconnect the battery for a half hour then reconnect it, that way the fuel adaptive get reset and the memory of the ECU gets overridden, so it looks like all you did was kill the power to the car.

Ask me how I know lol, I'm on engine number 2 in my 3.3 (Not because of the tune, It just happened to be on the car at the time)
TLDR, My heat in the cabin stopped working and Kia replaced the entire engine. All I did was swap my Factory ECU in before I left the car with them and all was well.

talk to lozic about it, some mis-information may have been put on the shipping forum. All the of ECU's I've gotten from him have spent less than 12 hours at that hub each time.

The TCU swap is only necessary if you are having direct Transmission issues, I left my Tork TCU in when my dealer had my car for two months replacing my motor and they didn't even glance at it. Probably because it didn't have anything besides the standard Kia/Hyundai Branding on it though.
