Hopefully, the filters have more surface area to suck in a higher volume of air.

It's not gonna suck more air. The limiting factor here is the size and speed of turbocharger.

Yep, its a shame that SSR stopped producing their intake system, having the air filters mounted behind the front grill instead of in the engine bay would work even better than an enclosed solution.......

I saw those. I would be very nervous to drive with them during heavy rain though.

Welp, there are a few people on here that do have them and have reported no issues whatsoever with weather, however if it really is something to worry about, they have little weathersock things that go around the filters that should stop that.

Less restriction = less pumping loss. Otherwise there would be zero gains for all those hot-air intakes people like to install.

I know some users had concerns about ram air snorkels sucking up rain water. I can stay from driving in downpours that they don't.

Why did Ssr stop making products in general? Downpipes too. I saw those intakes and was thinking the same thing as far as positioning

They moved on from the stinger platform pretty early on. they probably didn't see much sale potential at the time. They jumped ship pretty quick though.

Too early to jump ship imo. The stinger crowd is definitely getting a legit follow now. They could have really benefited.

Agreed. Can’t wait. Already have an appt with my shop to get them installed next Wed. I’ll post pics and some sound clips .

I folded...couldn't wait any longer. I just ordered the dry filter version a few mins ago.
