Yes, had exactly that happen to my stinger, suspect it has been an issue for a long time as my fuel economy suddenly dropped from 34mpg to 26mpg (difference between getting 420 miles from a tank to just 320 miles). Car has been in a few times with no fault found until the other day engine light came on and it started stuttering.

Cost to replace is £1500 which I'll have to pay £150 excess on, more worried about how long it will take to get the parts and replace the harness, going to be driving about in a 3 door hatchback loan car until then. Annoyingly I could repair it for about £10 but that invalidates the warranty.

How does your stinger get 34mpg? Is it a v4? My v6 gets like 19mpg city

Wow, that looks terrible! (the damage, not the mileage :P) I think that warranty work is most helpful on the big stuff. If you can fix this damage without going through the warranty, without waiting, I say go for it.

What part is the second pic?

It's the underside of the engine cover showing where the rodents have chewed up the padding for bedding (you can see this under the damage)
Ahhh, makes sense now.

Not just within the past 2 years or so, the planet is demonstrating that it is in control. Not humans. And fossil fuel is finite while intrusive critters are not…
