Torque limit on? You don’t see that very often!I just sent in my order form. I was sent a new order form from Lozic just a little bit ago and there are now new setting options regarding the TCU. Also he is working on a website for the states and it will be up soon.View attachment 70648
Yeah, I'm a little conservative when it comes to the TCU settings as I am aware of the weaknesses regarding the transmission.Torque limit on? You don’t see that very often!
I do like the additional options he has added on the TCU order form. You did pressure 1 like me- but said yes to the sport being more like sport+ I went No on that one.Yeah, I'm a little conservative when it comes to the TCU settings as I am aware of the weaknesses regarding the transmission.
Curious, what weaknesses have been discovered with our transmissions? I haven't heard of any failures outside of high mileage cars. Even the guy running 10s in the quarter didn't have any driveline issues from my understanding. I know they aren't quite as good as the ZF transmissions but they seem decently reliable.Yeah, I'm a little conservative when it comes to the TCU settings as I am aware of the weaknesses regarding the transmission.
Gotcha. Looks like you got your order in. Good luck and enjoy.GT is the 3.3TT. the GT-Line is the 2.5T
The transmission in our cars is pretty stout actually.Yeah, I'm a little conservative when it comes to the TCU settings as I am aware of the weaknesses regarding the transmission.
How many miles is on your Stinger? Have you checked or had someone check the transmission fluid level? Mine was 1/2 qt low at 36K. Shifting was faster and smoother once I had the correct fluid level.Anyone else experience something like me? I have jb4 + TCU stage 2, shifting around 5800 IIRC (but that doesn't matter for this). I also have the BMS pedal commander, which seems to make this worse.
When letting it rip from a stop, it's great. And also, when manually shifting, it's great. It seems to fall flat in traffic (frequent stop/go) sometimes, though.
I find that if I'm going 40-45 in traffic (in D, sport mode), have to brake hard to maybe 10 mph, the engine braking really kicks in, and the trans starts to downshift, but it's kind of slow to catch up. If I hit the accelerator more than 20% (keep in mind, with pedal commander at green level, +1-+2 settings, not super aggressive), the shifts will often lag the engine speed - I've even had what felt like the transmission slipping - it freewheeled up to 3500-4000 rpm like the car was in neutral without any change in speed for 2-3 seconds. If I turn off pedal commander, this happens less, but I like pedal commander because it makes the car feel more snappy around town.
Any thoughts as to what could be happening? When this happened I got scared and back off right away. ATF not warmed up yet? I don't remember exactly, but IIRC, car had been running 10+ minutes and we don't get too cold here (rarely below 40 overnight).
I have NOT had anything like this happen with the OEM TCU unit. It shifts a bit slower / rubberier, but it has never felt like it was slipping / disconnected from the drivetrain.
My best guess - since it only happens after braking, when the rpm is that low, is it impossible to get the line pressure back up high enough to shift quickly? If I were to manually downshift along with this braking (as I've done on the track), this is NOT a problem. It's only a problem in D mode, in what seems to be "hunting" for the correct gear after braking to low speed and then trying to accelerate again right away afterwards.
Any thoughts?
I mean.. with the JB4, really the worst case scenario would be getting a misfire and then you could just turn it to map0 and wait for the plugs. With a full custom ECU.. might not be advisable lol probably better safe than sorry although everyone on here feels your pain I'm sureECU just showed up today (with plugs.) Dang that was fast!!! I can’t put the new plugs in until
Thursday.. but I have no patience and want to do the ECU now! (Denso plugs currently.) someone talk me out of it
This actually brings up a point I was going to ask.. and ask BMS. Jb4 In map0 it is completely disabled right? So no boost safety etc. Could you use map6 but without any boost added and get JB4 fail safes? Hopefully that makes senseI mean.. with the JB4, really the worst case scenario would be getting a misfire and then you could just turn it to map0 and wait for the plugs. I have the aftermarket Denso plugs gapped at 0.022 had these since the JB4What bar is your tune? 1.4? If so, I doubt running the stock plugs for a short time is going to be an issue. In terms of JB4, I always felt it was still doing something in Map 0 and many others think so as well. However, it's required for logging.
What bar and what octane?
Oh, yeah, with those you should be golden man! I'd say send it!
I thought there was also a bit you need to turn on to tell it it's running an aftermarket ECU.. Well I just put the new ECU in. The car just turns over and over (lightly) but will not start!I thought there was also a bit you need to turn on to tell it it's running an aftermarket ECU.. I'm sorry I don't know which one off hand
Congrats!Well I just put the new ECU in. The car just turns over and over (lightly) but will not start!
Seriously!!! I already swapped back. I had to leave in my car. So when I do it again- let it sit for a bit? Or try to start it?Congrats!
Not to worry. Its downloading itself into the car.
Wait 30 or so seconds and turn it back on and you should be fine. May take a couple of attempts
