What a cool look...I have never listened to radio since buying in 2019. Guess That's why I did not know about these...

I think this is code for it was pulled because there are some issues with it and needs further correction and/or testing. What other reason can there be for pulling something barely a week after its release.

I will not be updating if they got rid of the tubes. One of my favorite features of the infotainment. They are referring to the image of the vacuum tubes in amplifiers. Anyone have an image of what is there now?

Totally the opposite, I HATE the tubes, and refuse to put the radio on the screen because of it. Lol.

I am old enough the remember these. They were called Nixie tubes. They were neon gas filled and had a separate cathode for each numeral, shaped like the number. When energized individually, the appropriate one glows.
This was before seven segment displays.

with the amount of complaints i saw posted about how people didn't like the "cheesy" tubes i'm not surprised they removed them... I liked them but never used them anyway since i only ever stream music...

also, it doesn't look like the update itself as pulled, just server maintenance so the download wasn't available yesterday.

i guess the only way to test is to see what the version number was on those who already did the update vs new updates

Also, what's to say they don't just keep the same version numbers. I've seen garmin do that in the past. Not often, but sometimes.

I just spoke to KIA. This is the deal. As a policy they charge for all software upgrades. But because of the proximity of time between the purchase and upgrade, they are making an exception for me. I suggest anyone who bought recently should try to push the envelope on this and get their new SD card. I called the "Premium Team": 855-542-7733.

On a sadder note, you will not be able to use all functionality of the UVO app because the car does not have a modem (unlike most of the top line KIA's, according to the rep). Maybe in future model years. So no remote start through UVO.
