RaceChip unleashes true potential of the Kia Stinger GT (and future GTR)

Drool.....

.. and with intake and/or exhaust mods?

Two questions:

1. Can you modify the limited top-speed?
2. If an owner modifies intake, exhaust, etc., can custom tuning be purchased?

Thanks!

1. No, currently we are not planning to remove the vmax / limited top speed
2. The product was developed on stock vehicles. Usually it works well with modifications. Please contact our customer service if you whish to adapt parameters of the tuning. This is free of charge, but you must have a RaceChip with app feature

Do you have an estimate on price yet? And are there any installation videos or documents available yet?

The prices will be unveiled next week. We will offer three different products.

RaceChip RS:
Solid performance upgrade for a bargain price. 6 fine tuning mappings, 3 years product warranty, reprogramming the chip if you sell your Stinger and get a new car costs $149

RaceChip GTS:
Great performance upgrade. Better hardware. 7 fine tuning mappings via digital user interface, 5 years product warranty, 1x free reprogramming of the chip if you sell your Stinger and get a new car

RaceChip GTS Black:
Phenomenal, best possible performance. 7 fine tuning mappings via digital user interface, 5 years product warranty, 2x free reprogramming of the chip if you sell your Stinger and get a new car. Warm-up timer included

App feature:
Can be added to each product for $50.

The installation is very easy. Unfortunately, we do not have an installation video. The first person uploading a good installation video on YouTube and posting in this forum will get a cash-back of $100 (on the RaceChip product purchased).

Anyway, we include detailed installation instructions, specifically for the Stinger GT containing engine-specific pictures. So, installation will be very easy.

Very interesting! Will you be releasing any upgrades for the 2.0 motor?
We did not develop an upgrade for the 2.0 engine yet. It will depend on the demand, because developing an outstanding product costs a lot of resources. So the next step is to observe the demand for the upgrade of the 3.3 engine.

I'm intrigued. If this is a mod that even car novices can do, then I'm game. I think what would really help for the noobs who don't normally get their hands wet under the hood are very detailed installation instructions with a video tutorial.
Yes, this product is also designed for car novices.
We have a very broad customer base from techies to unexperienced people that are not interested in technological details. No matter how sophisticated and complex our technology is, for the customer it must be convenient and easy to handle.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I'm curious to see what sort of testing your company performs while developing these tunes. Have you run into plug/coil issues? Are you recommending replacing stock plugs along with the device?

When will this mod be out and ready for purchase? I currently have the lap3 chip, is this any better?
It will be available for purchase on our website at the end of next week.
I can't comment on other products. If you want an answer, you must figure this out yourself ;)

Hm fun, but I never trust these things until engines have been running with it for years without blowing up :p Besides, you guessed it I guess .... illegal in Switzerland. Again. Gnagnagna....
Yes, it is illegal in Switzerland now. They accepted German TÜV certificates until last year. However, now you need to get Swiss certificates, which are very bureaucratic and costly...

I'm not asking about any other products. I'm asking if you've had issues running your tune with stock plugs...

Not very reassuring.
he didn't reply to you.

there were a few people posting in this discussion at the same time so he probably didn't even see your question.

Ok thanks for clarifying.

I am sorry, I indeed did not see your question. We are testing the product intensively on the dyno (different type of driving cycles and stress tests) as well as on all kind of streets including the German Autobahn. On following page you will find more information: Safety, Quality and Warranty
The Stinger GT has definitely technically a lot more power reserves than many other engines we have seen so far.
We did not have a single issue while development and testing. Also not with plugs/coils. If you do not have faulty plugs and use the fuel recommended, I can't imagine why any issues should occur.

Thank you very much for clearing this up! Much appreciated.

RaceChip is about to jump on board as an Authorized Vendor and here's what's going on over there...

Emotional, sportive, aggressive – this is how the Kia Stinger GT presents itself. The media is thrilled, but RaceChip wonders: Is that already everything? Or is there even more potential in this Korean car? Therefore RaceChip took a closer look at the Kia Stinger GT, with the goal to unleash its true potential.

Untapped potential for future Kia Stinger GTR
Soon after the release of the Stinger GT, rumors about an even stronger version of the 3.3 liter V6 arose. Albert Biermann, Hyundai-Kia’s performance chief, commented these rumors in an interview with Motoring. He admitted that “the car technically has more potential no doubt”, but added that “at this point there is no plan to do more”. He first wants to establish a customer base before “maybe next steps can happen”.

Power potential unleashed
Car enthusiasts are dying to experience the full potential of the Kia Stinger. “The engine base of the Stinger has the perfect conditions for us to unlock its power reserves. Why should we wait?” comments Dirk Bongardt, COO and head of product development at RaceChip. “RaceChip is specialized in exploiting the full power potential of cars” he explains. “So, we had to get our hands on the untapped potential of the Stinger GT”. The results are remarkable.

422 horsepower up from 365 horsepower stock. 508 lb-ft of torque up from 376 lb-ft of torque stock.

The adaptation and development of the chip took place directly on the RaceChip dyno, plus intensive test drives for further fine-tuning were added. RaceChip was able to increase the performance from 365 PS (370 PS) and 376 lb-ft (510 Nm) to 422 PS (428 PS) and 508 lb-ft (689 Nm). So, while the Stinger starts a new era for Kia, the RaceChip GTS Black already starts a new era for the Stinger GT. With the optional Smartphone App, drivers can select different driving modes or turn the tuning off with just one fingertip. To completely turn the Stinger GT to a full-blooded sports car, RaceChip also developed the throttle controller XLR. The XLR also comes with optional app control and shortens the response time of the Stinger. The performance parts will soon be available online at racechip.us and at authorized RaceChip resellers.

If that chip is backed by the Kia warranty he'll I Will buy one, might even buy some stock. If it's not I don't think I'm going to for a few tenths of a second faster 0 to 60, lose my 10 year 100,000 mile warranty on a $50,000 + investment . Let us know if it's covered by the warranty ,I'll be standing in line with everybody else if it is .

Don't hold your breath. Engine mods are usually not covered under warranty.

No I hadn't planned on holding my breath I'm somewhat of a dinosaur . I just can't hold my breath that long anymore . I realize that these mods and chips in less it's done by the dealer they're not warranteed , in less by the manufacture . So an engine mod or chip I would believe pretty much would void the whole drivetrain, ouch . I held my breath so long for the stinger to come out, that I thought I was gonna have to buy it in my next life. So far the biggest thing we've done his badge replacement, took the key and badge on the back off replaced it with the stinger script, move the GT badge from The right side to the left side opposite the AWD badge , and as far as increasing the 0 to 60 time, we took the owners manual out and I think we picked up 1/10 of a second , and discovered there was a glove compartment. Have a good rest of the weekend .

This is a very good question. The short answer is: No. As a result of the installation of a RaceChip auxiliary control unit, you may lose the ability to make claims under any guarantee provided by the manufacturer of your vehicle with regard to the engine (and possibly other parts of the vehicle).

However, the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act strongly protects consumer rights. When accessorizing your vehicle with aftermarket parts, your warranty claim cannot be automatically denied, nor can your warranty be voided, if you install non-OEM parts in your vehicle. The burden is on the dealer to prove the aftermarket parts caused the failure.

Please be aware that our products are designed for maximum safety. In contrast to many other tuning technologies we do not remove or adapt any engine protection system implemented by the manufacturer. Furthermore, the RaceChip Engine Protection System is part our optimization software. This RaceChip engine protection is the first layer of protection, the OEM-systems are the second layer. E.g. getting Check Engine Lights (CEL) would be a sign that the OEM-system stepped in. Customers sometimes get them if installation goes wrong (e.g. you remove your RaceChip and forget to re-connect the stock plugs --> the ecu recognizes that something isn't right and throws CELs and you can't start your car).

RaceChip is an impermanent plug & play modification. You can easily remove it within a few minutes and your car is in stock condition again.

Thank you for your information helpful I have to run this by my service writer if he agrees I'm on board. OK it's Sunday the sun shining now let's all get out there and drive them have a great day . You gonna have to drive a little faster today because we lost an hour.

The Stinger GT has definitely technically a lot more power reserves than many other engines we have seen so far.

I know you can not promise any official numbers, but as a tuner, what do you think would be possible with this engine without sacrificing reliability?

Also, I know you are looking to provide a tune for stock vehicles, but I believe exhausts will be a very common modification, if only because the stock exhaust has no soul - so with a reasonable flow, how much further do you THINK you might be able to go?
