Lozic ECU + TCU + AWD Tune

Hey everyone- On the Lozic ECU order form for “Pops and Bubbles” there are two options “Pattern A or Pattern B” does anyone know the difference? Also what is everyone’s opinion? I’m thinking something not too aggressive and in sport mode only.
I have pattern A. Bubbles to 4500 and a rare pop above. Bubbles are perfect in my opinion. I recently got pop( bubbles) on downshift and it is awsome.

Hey All!

Wanted to thank you guys for your time first and foremost! I just purchased a 2019 G70 3.3T Dynamic and, believe it or not, I've read through ALL 134 pages of this Lozic ECU+TCU+AWD thread. My vehicle being a bit more of a "rare" model, I am planning on keeping it 100% stock but want to unlock potential in the vehicle without sacrificing too much in the longevity department.

Hoping to pick you guys brain on the following:

1. I am in AZ where pnly 91 is readily available. People only using 91. Do you feel as though the 1.4 would be appropriate or is the 1.3 still plenty fast and no need to push it further. Those with 1.3, do you ever wish you had the additional power?

2. With the TCU tune, guys with level 2, do you feel as though the transmission is tuned in such a way that it was asking for trouble long term and may be better to go with a 1 or even a 0 of longevity is a concern?

3. With the additional power level options being added for power by mode, would you choose that option? Say 1.2 in Eco and Comfort and 1.3 in sport? Or for those who did not choose that feature still feel like you'd rather have a consistent power level across all modes?

4. With the 1.3/1.4 tune, do you feel as though your car would be even that much faster with the AWD tune? Do you have any traction issues when launching and do you think the AWD tune would remedy those? Or, again, the difference wouldn't be worth the potential added stress on the driveline components.

5. Lastly, do you feel as though I should still buy a JB4 to check Lozic's tune? It seems as though that from the original purchases to now, quite a bit of refinement has occurred with his tunes and the quality of them seem to be dialed in as much as any of the Lap3 tunes.

Again, thank you guys so much for your input! I know it was rather long winded and understand if theres not answers to everything I've asked other than personal preference. Any information you guys have to provide will be greatly appreciated!

By leaving it 100% stock I assume you mean Bolt on modifications? I’m in Utah so same boat as you with only 91 available. I know in Canada they say the 91 sucks to do a 1.3. I have spoke to Lozic and plan to do the 1.4- you can do even higher if desired even on 91 Because a 1.4 tune on 91 octane is different than a 1.4 tune on 93 octane. Lozic is insanely talented and will tune it correctly for your specifications. Power by mode I say option D is the best choice if you chose this option. But I think all opinions are different there. I actually wish I could pick my own- but D since we can’t. I have the TCU with pressure at 1. To me it’s absolutely perfect. All personal preference there. Except you will hear people that know their stuff say if you are pushing more power then the tranny does need more pressure to help it not slip- so almost like it can help it last longer.. why 1.5 ECU tune and Pressure 2 TCU tune is the most common- hopefully that makes sense. I say do pressure 1 because of personal experience- smooth ride in eco and comfort and then sport is just like it should be and shifts sportier..I am like you and read all pages before posting, and done a lot of research as well. This forum has fantastic information and people that care and help the community. JB4 is amazing to have not just to review logs but also to add more power in the future if desired- CPI etc. I’m AWD and have no trouble launching and I do not have AWD tune. AWD tune I think will mostly help in corners and track. Straight line is probably not very noticeable. I won’t be getting that. Sorry for the novel..So that is my 2 Pennies.

No need to apologize for the novel at all! Appreciate you taking the time to reply with all that info. And I mean stock as in 100% stock, not so much as a new intake. Seeing Slip_Angle run a 3.6 0-60 is enough to tell me that many of the bolt on mods for these vehicles are more for asthetic/sound/personal preference.

I was leaning towards the 1.4 as well, based on the recent developments in "boost ready" mode, did you decide to go with that? And if so did you do always on or the 2k RPM option? Paying attention to my driving, it seems like the car really only exceeds 2k on spirited driving or in sport mode where the car is staying in a lower gear.

Thanks for the TCU insight too man!

The only reason I was highly considering getting the AWD is ourely based on the fact that I'm not planning on doing any other mods so it may be good for me just to get that little extra performance out of the vehicle. Wish more people ran that mod to know if the "slightly faster" "faster" and "much faster" option was best for daily driving with the occasional freeway and stoplight "fun".

Excited to become part of the 3.3t family regardless! Got my car this past Saturday and already in love... (coming from a Daytona 392 Charger)

I don’t currently have the ECU. Just like you doing all the research first. I am ordering it next week though . We seem similar with Bolt On Preferences- I only have an intake. All other things are “stock” outside of the tunes. With how high the elevation is here I need the intakes for the extra air or it gets a little choked. If straight line speed is what you are after I don’t think AWD tune is worth the money. Although you can buy it and if you agree it’s not worth it Lozic will gladly refund you. Or if you love it you just keep it. Although I have one recommendation outside of tunes. Get an oil catch can!

You wont see that 3.6 without the supporting mods for it, as well as you better have some damn good pump gas.

Yep, need that proper pump gas. Also Lozics suggestion is to launch at 3000-3200 rpm. But I found my sweet spot was definitely 2600-2700, to each their own. Also upshifting around 5-5600k rpm which I never got to do :((( lol

Slip_angle launched fairly early in the 2000s and upshifted at 4700 from what he mentioned to me. You can try that since you both own the same car.

I have my TCU programmed to upshift in 1st at 5,200-5,300 and all other gears 5,500-5,600. This is really good from a stop. From a roll it’s not quite as effective. But always have the paddles if needed. As soon as atomicGTL gets his car back he will break into the 3s!!!

if the weather up in Canada played nice with him, he could probably just take the bumper off and do it

Yes! Catch can was on the list for sure! I guess I wasn't thinking of that as a performance mod as much as longevity one. Do these motors have quite a bit of blow by?

I empty mine every 2.5k and it’s usually about a quarter of the can full. So I would say yes they do. I wish I would of done it sooner. Remember with the tune you’ll need new plugs as well.

Could be right! Slip_Angle certainly didn't seem to have an issue in his G70 but I won't know until I try it. Won't change my mind about supporting mods but that's just my personal preference. I love the idea of having a sleeper car to surprise and piss some people off and it will still be plenty fast to do that!

Thanks for the feedback! Yes I imagine that although the powertrain is the same, the launch techniques differ somewhat..
How do you feel about the 1.3 Lozic power level?

Yep, planning on getting the HKS plugs too! Appreciate the reminder there.

And wow ok, that's a good amount overall, certainly enough that you don't want it to go into your intake. Most seem to have the BMS or Mishimoto catch can, any real difference between the both or suggestions for others as far as look/fitment/performance are concerned?

The G70 is 300ish lbs lighter than the stinger in the same trim level as well as the conditions where probably really good for that run. any idea if he has proof of the 3.6 with no mods? that seems stupidly fast for a 1.3bar with no supporting mods.

Edit - Just saw the time on draggy. Damn. Its a 3.69 so realistically a 3.7 but still, damn fast for not having any supporting mods.

You're the first person I've read that took advantage of choosing the shift points by gear! I was almost thinking of buying the ECU first and getting it on a dyno to try and get the shift points right at max power/boost for each gear.. not sure if it would be worth the effort but nice in theory!

Drop in filters is all for you then! What is your elevation at? I think with what Tunes you are wanting and with a good launch you can get into the 3s. I think 3.6 is a stretch but you never know until you try!

I am one of the biggest BMS supporters out there. Products and services are top of the game. The only time I won’t recommend their products is the catch can- IMO you don’t want it to just drain back to the oil pan. You want to be able to drain it. Although I live where we have winters and you probably don’t so I’m sure it affects me more than you. Lots of condensation along with oil. That’s why I want to drain it.
