We had to turn a page with our elderly chihuahua tonight.......it's never easy.....His breathing had shortened and when he struggled to maintain and let out a cry we knew it was time....This dog listened to me but not once acknowledged me as king of the household......here's a clip of him in his prime.

slowly moving on towards warmer weather ...eventually......single digits right now...but the days are getting longer....and the car hasn't skipped a beat... This being the first winter driving it without covering it up and letting it sit for 3 month's.
I'm the polar opposite of sadistic. And who's to say that Stinger is parked out in the open year-round? That might have happened while at work: come out to drive home and oh boy, look at that: has happened to me more than a few times (but obviously not since retirement). The most my stinger has accumulated in a snow drop is less than three inches, maybe twice all told. I do keep a scraper/brush in the boot or even behind my seat if snow is threatening. But to not drive an AWD Stinger in the winter, makes no sense.
yes but the storage is for the salt treatment they put on the roads up here......rust buckets are common in 2 years......with the cold after the salt and no effing time for a stinking car wash.....it will corrode.......the question is how much.
so it does make sense after all....as far as senselessness goes, whats the point of a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty if the car rusts to sh!t by driving the winter month's in a few years?!

Manual says to wash the underside out at least monthly. I wash out the underside of mine each time I drive on a wet salty road. The goal is to prevent salt buildup: it doesn't matter if you spray out the underside and next day have to do it again. Just don't let salt buildup happen.

The manual doesn’t say jack about 0 degree weather. A garden hose is useless. Whatever the water touches turns to ice. Now you have salt encapsulated ice on the car. This goes on for months. Hence parking the bitch til the salt fairy leaves. Granted. In a normal area I agree wholeheartedly. But the northeast is not normal lol
Maybe you haven't actually been sleeping lately and when you think you are asleep you are actually moonlighting as a service tech for kia traveling from city to city setting up underground fight clubs.

I don't use a garden hose: and typically around here, I don't wash anything on the car unless it does get above freezing. I've given this some thought: because some years (in the fading past, but weather cycles, you know), our winters have been beastly with weeks on end without rising above freezing: what would I do? And in that scenario, I'd go to a car washing place and have everything cleaned by hand in doors: a local "car spa" said that they would raise the car and thoroughly spray out the undercarriage for c. sixty bucks: and I decided that I'd afford that once a month during the winter, if it came to the temperature no longer cooperating (staying below freezing 24/7).
I haven't found one that you can set the undercarriage/wheels only: that would be ideal: because crouching low to get under there with a hand wand, outside, even under ideal above-freezing conditions, is not a pleasant experience (and let's be practical: there will come a point when crouching low enough, long enough, will no longer be an option). I've searched for "touchless" car washes near me: but all an online search returns is a listing of ALL car washes of all types: thus, I cannot separate any true "touchless" car washes from the tunnels.

I've seen the ones that are a tunnel, so you still have the track that the wheel is in, but there aren't any brushes, just water and soap. You can ask them to just do the undercarriage and wheels, and they might be able to do it.
