Lozic ECU + TCU + AWD Tune

Just purchased my ECU 1.6 bar

Lozic informed me to not gap my plugs so that was interesting information, currently running 0.022 Denzos with the JB4. Bought the HKS from him and will be leaving them how they come.

Only mentioning as I know there’s a lot of info about how to gap the plugs and I didn’t see anything while reading 50+ pages of this thread about not gapping them.

EDIT: Posts below show there may have been a minor miscommunication as the HKS plugs come pre-gapped.

Can u verify to see what they’re at?

anyway, I’ll be doing some dynos and posting them for comparisons, there’s a lot of dyno events near me so I can swap the ECU and run it.

For the dyno I’ll do the going with some form of non-measured “E30” mix. 4gal to a tank in the following configurations:

Stock
JB4 map 3
Lozic ECU

Also have the TCU Pressure 3 and it’s an absolute beast, wish I had pressure 4. It’s minorly aggressive for daily driving but definitely reasonable, even my grandma likes it when she goes to the store so it can’t be too bad ;)

Yep. I have Lozic with HKS and no gap. Works perfect. Gap is really only needed with piggybacks.

Looking forward to it!

Glad to hear it, Decided on WMI after ordering the ECU so I guess I'll use the JB4 for that since I didn't select the option. Oops.
Good choice! You won’t be disappointed.

Anyone running the new Sport+ option with this TCU? Interested in knowing the Pros and Cons versus just the regular TCU package.

I’m ordering a lozic tcu with the awd module. I just gaped my hks plus to .022 because I’m running a jb4 at map 3. What will happen if I don’t increase the gap?

I’m replying to this thread simply to hear From you about the performance of the tune

Hey guys. Has anyone wish a jb4, lozic tcu and awd ecu ran a 0-60? I want to know if I can expect to be in the 3’s

I think you will be in the 3’s with AWD
This is my RWD stock rims and tire size and a lot of wheel spin.

After 113 pages of posts, I have a few questions as this has gotten me interested in the cool features Lozic has been making.

I spend a lot of time in Sport on my daily drives. The TCU tune sounds really appealing as my transmission is really slow to downshift manually on my stock GT2.

I hear a lot on pressure 2 downshifts from 2->1 being harsh, especially for daily driving. I know my stock, manual downshifts from 2->1 are pretty harsh already, unless I'm in just the right sweetspot (and I have a 2021 so it is rev-matching). However, it does not seem like my stock TCU downshifts into first when in full-auto mode but I'll have to count gears and maybe it is just slipping so much I do not notice. Does the Lozic TCU downshift into first when in sport, full-automatic or only in manual mode?

Does anyone have a video of what they consider a harsh downshift from 2->1?
Maybe a video with something hanging from their review mirror to show the impact of the jolt; I recall a YouTube I can't find now of two guys driving showing the jolt driving a pressure 3 or other tuner TCU but they were at speed.

I really like that the TCU can make full-automatic downshift more. (Though I don't know I'd be up for braking the wheels free on downshifts!) Does anyone know if Lozic can set sport to downshift and comfort to downshift but not as aggressively as sport (e.g. for use on snow and just easier in-city deceleration) and still allow the torque converter to disengage in ECO (coast mode I think I've heard it called)?

I see pressure 0, 2 and 3 TCU reviews but have not heard of anyone with a pressure 1 or 4 yet. Has anyone yet actually ordered and driven a pressure 1 TCU?

Lastly, I have had my full stock GT2 transmission slip (more likely fail to shift as it did not feel mechanical) in full-auto mode three times and once in manual mode. So far, the full-auto times have all been in the same place, under very hard acceleration onto a far-left lane through highway traffic getting on to the Interstate after a very fun chicane on-ramp. (So basically the car does 40ish MPH for a mile, then manual shifts with high lateral-G 70ish MPH before exiting the chicane. At exit there maybe a panic brake/downshift to 1st if the on-ramp has a stop light operating otherwise I exit the chicane about 60ish MPH and then accelerate to 80ish MPH with lots of rapid deceleration/acceleration crossing five lanes of traffic. In crossing traffic, speeding up I have thrice had it hit redline, engine derate/hit the redline wall and then the transmission shifted and acceleration picked right back up.

Similarly, doing some home-brew auto-cross in a business park, I have had lag downshifting. (I was in sport, manual mode and asked the transmission to drop three gears coming up to a circle and it did nothing for about 10 seconds as such I lazily took the circle then as I accelerated out of the circle in 5th all the sudden the car dropped to 2nd right in the middle of acceleration.)
Has anyone experienced transmission slips/fail to shifts with the Lozic TCU?

Because I'm wordy, tl;dr, questions in bold.

The first couple of weeks, I felt like the 2-1 braking was abrupt due to the engine braking, but after about a month my foot has adapted and I can drive it smoothly now. I really enjoy the shifting logic as it does a great job keeping the car on the power band. As soon as you let off the gas, it downshifts smoothly/accordingly to have the power rdy to go again.
