Hello all,

I've been going back and forth about adding the JB4 to my car. After researching the different piggyback tuners available, JB4, Lap3 Pro tuner, and RaceChip GTS; the JB4 looks like the better option. I have some questions about the JB4 though. My mods are in my signature.
  • Once everything is set up properly and confirmed the car is running smoothly, does my phone have to be connected to the JB4 via Bluetooth every time?
  • I understand that the fuel wires are optional but are there any downside if one doesn't use them (besides less power)?
  • Denso 5346 IKH24 or HKS M45IL?
  • Has a dealer ever gone the extra mile to attempt to detect a JB4 after it's been removed?
  • Do dealers care if non-OEM spark plugs are installed?
I plan to only use maps 1 and 2 since my Stinger is my daily driver/only car. My car has never seen 87 or 91 octane gas, I only run 93 so map 2 should be perfectly fine.

I would say, why not have your phone connected every time? Get to see your gauges etc, but even if you don't connect it will automatically run in the last map you had it on if I remember correctly.. also fuel wires come standard now so why not use them, I would recommend the wiring adaptor so you don't have to tap your stock wire, either plugs are fine as long as they're gapped properly.. ive had my jb4 for 2 months now and it's only made the car more enjoyable. Worth the price

I may forget to connect my phone but that's good if it does remember. I'll give a look at the fuel wire adaptors.

  • Once everything is set up properly and confirmed the car is running smoothly, does my phone have to be connected to the JB4 via Bluetooth every time? - No
  • I understand that the fuel wires are optional but are there any downside if one doesn't use them (besides less power)? - Just less power
  • Denso 5346 IKH24 or HKS M45IL? - Denso is a much better value but we stock both. Denso last 15-20k miles, HKS 25-30k miles. Operation is similar between them.
  • Has a dealer ever gone the extra mile to attempt to detect a JB4 after it's been removed? - No trace is left behind when removed, but we don't encourage warranty fraud. Pay for any damage you cause operating your vehicle in excess of the factory power levels.
  • Do dealers care if non-OEM spark plugs are installed? - They are not allowed to discriminate against non-OEM replacement parts

Thanks, Terry!

You're right, the fuel wires come preinstalled on the new units.
Now I am so confused! I bought the PNP Fuel Wire Adapter but is that not required if I just bought a brand new JB4?

Adaptor allows you to not posi tap your factory wires. The hole is visible and Ive heard of dealerships possibly looking for it as evidence of piggyback tune

Sounds like the adapters are a must if you want to leave even less of a trace.

Thank you both! I think I just confused myself when reading this thread.
Side question, how are the Eibach sway bars on the RWD Stinger? While looking at your signature, I see our cars have similar mods.

Sway Bars have been the best mod I have to date in my opinion. The car just feels more planted on turns. If you are considering them I would say make sure to do front and back. Absolutely love them!

Great, I'll put them on my current wish list along with the BMS diff brace. The JB4 and spark plugs will be my last mod.
