Frameless Auto Dimming and Universal Remote Rear View Mirror

Finally, a mirror big enough to see all of our huge back window :rofl:

This is a great thread. I don't know why I haven't seen it before. I'd love to replace the clunky thick bezel mirror on my 19 GT2. My last car was a 16 Camaro SS with a bezeless mirror that I liked. The Stinger mirror is taking a step back. Plus the Homelink in the Stinger won't clone the entry gate remote, which isn't even a rolling code. The GM mirrors cloned the gate remote just fine.

I still haven't had any luck locating the OEM 2022 frameless mirror with homelink. Has anyone found a reseller or a part number for it?

I think no has really bothered cause there is mirrors already out there outside of OEM to purchase. Maybe give it a few more months and the OEM mirror might pop up.

2022 parts are hard to come by. I recommend you reach out to the guy that will match any mirror to any car (listed earlier in the thread) and tell him you want the subaru frameless homelink V5 with the compass mated to a hyundai/kia harness. it's the same mirror. you can see my photos up in the thread.

btw-Gilley, the range on the subie mirror is phenomenal, much better than the stock one.

So the frameless mirror looks really nice, i may get that soonish. Anyways, I am trying to program in my new garage door, and I see that my mirror doesn't have any homelink buttons. Just a center power button with a left and right LED. I have a 2019 Kia Stinger GT (usa). Are the homelinks only for GT1 and GT2 line? f*cking lame if so

I

I have a screaming newborn right now. Can you copy in a link? Thanks!
Scroll up in this thread there’s a guy that will sell you the mirror ready for plug and play.

Curious, how does the OEM homelink mirror work in stingers. Does the ignition have to be on for you to open your garage door?

Then why does Bobs say " Please note that in order for this mirror to be plug & play, the Homelink® buttons will only be operable when the ignition is on. "

I mean, i don't care, I'm only going to be using the garage door when my car is on, but still. I guess you could say this is an inadvertent safety feature. Now someone can't $5 wrench their way into my car, and press the homelink to enter my garage.

they still can into my wifes though :-/

According to his website, that's only applicable to the newer gen models?

I bought a Gentex ADVGENFLCHLN frameless mirror from Crutchfield for just under $200 (open box but brand new). When I got it I noticed the pinout on the connector was not correct, I think it was the toyota configuration. After doing some research I was able to identify the colors/function of the Gentex mirror and repin it to be plug and play with the stinger. To repin you just have to push a needle in the small hole shown in pic and then use a tool to push the pin contact in and out of connector. Once all pins were pushed out I reinstalled them in the right locations shown in the schematic in this thread. Took roughly 30 mins and everything is working perfectly (mirror dimming and side mirrors dimming).

I take it ADVGENFLCHLN would be similar to this (without being re-pinned)?

I'm thinking about going the same route, the compass in other versions just seems like clutter..... direction is already displayed in the on screen navigation, and it can be displayed in the cluster.

Is there any reason I'm missing to want to keep the compass in the mirror?

Yep same mirror, I was going to get it from Bob but with shipping and taxes it was $300. Found it cheap on Crutchfield and took a chance on me being able to repin, which saved me almost $100. As for the compass I had the same thinking, to cluttered, looks cleaner without and much cheaper to boot.
