My fwd air deflector said "oh look, a penny!' and turned itself inside out at 85mph.

Pushed the wheelwell liners into the tires for some bonus damage.

Rigged up a makeshift cover last night, hope it holds until I can get a replacement.

The panel can't bend down unless it is attached outside the bumper cover!? Who took that off last time? Your replacement is on right. That's really cool that you made a temporary cover. The other damage really stinks and will require a lot more expense than that simple forward undercarriage panel.

I am experiencing a level of stress, as NAV is at Jerry Seiner Kia for service: I got a Lyft ride home, since the minimum possible time is over six hours to do the following: oil change/basic service; 45K miles service (turbo filters and cabin filter are part of that); recommended spark plugs change; find out what is wrong with the TPMS. The spark plugs were totally unplanned, sort of like an ambush, frankly. And those dang things are $34 apiece!? Three hours labor. All damages added together are going to go over a thousand dollars: I can't even say how much, if anything, the TPMS is going to add to that.

"Recommended" by service super "for this engine". I don't know any better, so I go with recommended on this car (never concerned myself with such niceties before the Stinger).

I just called Jerry Seiner back, not believing, really, that $34 per plug is real. The guy I talked to paused my call to ask the parts department, and he came back with $20/plug. WTH!? I can't even get the same place to give me the same price within three house of each other. I told him to hold off the spark plugs replacement job. On Amazon, six iridium plugs cost $33.50. Jacking me on the price of plugs makes me suspect their "three hours of labor to change Stinger plugs" assertion too. The honeymoon appears be ending today.

Can anyone tell me how many hours it takes to change plugs in a Stinger?

I'm with you Merlin. My car was just dropped off at the dealer by the body shop that did my front end repair to have them calibrate the front sensor. Only the second time it's seen the dealer in 2.5 yrs of ownership. They say they'll have the car back to me tomorrow but we'll see. I'm already preparing for the call..."Yeah sooooooo, we need to wait for the Stinger "specialist" to come in and figure this out. He's in Kathmandu right now. We'll let you know in 3 weeks when/if we figure this out". Ughhhhh just please, PLEASE don't damage the car. I feel like I just dropped my kids off at Michael Jacksons house for a play date...

@MerlintheMad, I tend to over maintain my cars. I haven't had a new car long enough yet to plugs yet. That said, if I keep the stinger for a while, I may do them at 60-70K, depending how the car is driving, mpg, etc.

DO NOT buy plugs from amazon/ebay. The chance of getting fakes is significant. I would probably buy them from a local place if possible.

Took me less than an hour but i also didn't take the intake plenum off like the service manual wants you to do.

You are correct. I just checked my manual (2022), there too, for the 3.3L they recommend 42K miles. Under severe use they say more frequently. My guess is to maintain vehicle performance? Although, at my rate of driving, 42 (or 48K for the 2.5) might very well take me a decade to reach.

I do all mods and service myself and am 100% certain that all the little plastic push rivets were reinstalled each time. They were, however, the original rivets.

I can only guess that they weaken with repeated uses and loosened up enough that 1-2 fell out. Alternatively, I did "love tap" an extra tall curb 2 weeks ago that may have knocked something loose.

Almost got side swiped by some a$shole getting off the expressway. Literally the second he (she, it?) began straightening out, he (she, it?) started coming over. Don't think it even checked mirrors to make sure no one was there. I don't mind folks taking off ramps fast, but stay in your damn lane! Went left as far as I could (car on my left), probably came within a foot of me. I'll check the dash cam later to see what it caught. That far right lane is at least 3/4 block long, plenty of space to merge over safely.

Lesson, never be next to someone as they're coming off a ramp. They hand out licenses to any one in IL.
