3.3TT Kia Stinger Aftermarket Exhaust Information and Discussion

Did you every get a reliable answer? i e-mail mbrp last weeks and they said there catback was not yet confirmed it would fit the 2022 model.
I emailed them as well and they said I was basically the 4th or 5th person that asked, and the more people that ask the more likely they are to build one for the 2022s. I believe it would be different cause the 2022s real exhaust pipes actually go through into the tips, where as the older models didn't and that gave them a bunch of droning issues.

Pretty straight forward question lol.
you want a muffler delete that mates up to a borla muffler? or do you mean to their overpriced tips?

Seems crazy to put on a Borla and then delete their mufflers. If you are going to do that, just do a muffler delete on Stock exhaust.

Lol.

Does anyone offer a muffler delete that will mate to a borla s type?

Just unbolt the borla, there you just deleted the mufflers. Really though what are you trying to accomplish? Did you mean cat delete?

Question.

I have MBRP Pro Catback exhaust, and had Ultimate Performance Down and Mid pipes installed. When in drive, and at low RPM, like between 1.5 and 2.5, I get what sounds like really bad vibration from under the car. It sounds to my ear like it is coming from the middle to back of the car. It's driving me crazy. I took it back to the shop and everything appears to be secure and tightened down, and not touching any heat shields.

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

It's under the trunk where battery is that vibrates in that rpm range
Think that may be why stock exhaust has those crimps
Downpipes will make it much worse since it makes sound louder and deeper
Options are
Soundproofing mats on the sheet metal and some have said aftermarket exhaust tips help a lot

I have after market tips already. So sound proofing mats underneath the car under the trunk? Or inside the trunk in the battery compartment?

If you already have aftermarket tips that connect directly to exhaust
And assuming everything installed and torqued correctly
Think all you can do is soundproof under the trunk where the battery is
That should help a bit but won't eliminate

If you're talking about drone in the cabin, that's a V6 thing. Always has been, always will be. The factory system has crimps in it (as has been mentioned) to reduce the drone.

You can put thick sound matting in the back and/or put insulation wrap around the system from the down pipes back, but you'll still have it in some degree.

If you have a decent exhaust shop nearby, get them to make and fit a pair of Helmholtz pipes. If done correctly, it'll help a lot.

similar thing happens with my Borla catback

My complete dynamatting of the boot and under back seat area did not stop vibration further up the car but reduced drone only. I mistakenly thought if i reduced the drone the vibration would stop.

The drone was from the rear and the vibration felt close to the drivers seat.

Have you got under the car and checked all the nuts and bolts along the exhaust system?

Also, while under there, make a fist and firmly bump the entire system from back to front to see if you can find anything lose ( internally also).

Had the whole exhaust system replaced ( Ark) to the Borla S type. The exhaust specialist had the Ark on a hoist and noted the way the exhaust was set up that the whole structure vibrtated from front to back. They turned the engine on hoisted it and placed a large screw driver up and down the bar. The screwdriver hummed like a tuning fork.

Damn! Ive been playing with exhaust systems for over 20 years and never heard of that.

So are the vibes gone now ?
