What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

. Did you remove the vents when you wrapped it or did they get left on

I love the look but just took the wrap off my hood. It bunched up around the vents from vibrations.
The same thing happened with my PPF. We were wondering if it would work out. The first hot day and it started to wrinkle. Just brought it back in, and removed the film under the “vents”.

Stuff like this makes me wonder if i should even wrap mIne. Car sits out during the day and ive seen how it affects normal wraps here in FL

Sorry, I think I wasn’t clear. We tried laying the film across the hood with the vents off and then reinstalled them over the film. The vents pushed the film around with the temp changes. I think it was the first warm day of spring.

It was a lesson learned and easily fixed. We just cut the affected film away. It’s virtually undetectable.

Heat in general has no I’ll effect. In fact, it activates the self healing nature of the PPF surface.

I can’t comment on these new fancy vinyls that are out there. They’ve come a long way since the days I worked in a vinyl shop at the Pennsauken Mart.

I have Suntek on the rest of my front clip so I went with that on the hood too. No material under vents and with clear you can’t see the line.

Except that means my kids are playing with bubbles and my car is getting covered.
Hahaha! I know that feeling all to well! Mine runs around with a bubble gun

Mishimoto Catch can installed…getting additional clips for the OEM finished look.

This is more of a what I tried to have done but didn't happen post.

I had an appointment to get my windshield replaced. I've delayed this for months but the crack kept getting bigger and is now in my sight of view.

The windshield technician came to my house to replace today but once he knew of my HUD and camera/rain sensor in the windshield he said that his company (I told his company rep on the phone about the HUD and camera when I was booking the appointment) ordered aftermarket glass and not Kia OEM. He said if there were any issues with the HUD not displaying correctly or the windshield camera needing recalibration that Kia won't fix it because it's not OEM glass. So he recommended I call his windshield company and have them order Kia OEM glass and install that. So now I await a phone call on when they can get the OEM windshield and appointment to come back out for the install.
Update:

The glass company was able to get approval from my auto insurer and ordered Kia OEM glass for my vehicle. I have an appointment next week to have my windshield replaced. Yay!

Out of curiosity, what is the cost of the Kia OEM windshield? I've literally had to replace a windshield eventually on almost every car I've owned, lots of highway driving and those pesky high speed rocks. When I see dump trucks on the highway, I literally stay back a km at least.

I wonder how many windshields are damaged annually by dump trucks on highways.

Is there a replacement for the silver plastic console cover available? I have to say, I've only had the car a couple of months and it already has nicks and scratches. Plastic is simply too soft. It looks nice enough but its far too high traffic an area. Gloss black is bad for that too.

I've seen pics like this but no idea where to get them. I assume this is a decal.

I did find this on EBay though which is an overlay and includes side door panel covers as well

It looks like its only made for Korean model with the cup holder cover though

I used a strip of PPF on the driver's side to keep the nicks to a minimum...
I do like the carbon one, but that would lead me down the rabbit hole of changing out all the aluminum to carbon lol

Yep that's always the issue. The kit I found on Ebay actually comes with carbon door card covers too. I believe it covers all the aluminum in the interior.

I'm just not sure if it will fit the console that has the North American cup holder.

You can swap the centre console - they are a few people that have done it, so it's do-able

I have the KDM version of the center console I think it is aluminum and sells for about $250 or something. Easy to switch it out and bonus, it does have a cup holder door on it. There are videos on you tube to help with the switch I believe. The center console looks so much better with a cover on the cup holders...
