Lozic ECU + TCU + AWD Tune

I'm still undecided TBH. I collected all the 0-60mph and 1/4 mile runs through this thread and associated mods to try and make a decision. Hope it helps others. Will dig into the data tomorrow now (who needs sleep?). In parentheses are the number of runs.

Data:
  • All stock: 4.80s 0-60 (6), 12.99s @ 107.25 mph (3)
  • JB4, no TCU and few if any plumbing mods: 4.38s 0-60 (3), no 1/4 mile data
  • Lozic ECU, no TCU and few if any plumbing mods: 3.85s 0-60 (14), 11.87 @ 114.5mph (2)
  • JB4, no TCU, FBO+fueling: 4.47s 0-60 (1), 12.16s (3) @ 112.1mph (1)
  • Lozic ECU, no TCU and FBO+fueling: 4.28s 0-60 (2), 11.68s @ 118.1mph (5)
  • JB4, Lozic TCU, FBO+fueling: 3.85s 0-60 (1), no 1.4 mile data
  • Lozic ECU, Lozic TCU, FBO+fueling: 3.18s 0-60 (7), 11.15s @ 123.0 mph (5)
Analysis: Data is too limited on JB4 with the current data set (only this thread). Lots of variation in FBO setups, not only between parts but also weight. Some runs on a prepped track, most on street (especially further up the list). Stinger vs G70 doesn't matter as much as conditions. All are AWD.

Conclusions: ECU tune is the way to go. It cuts more than a half-second off of JB4 FBO 0-60 runs with no bolt-ons. And it traps higher, so it pulls harder on the highway. shit. Add the Lozic TCU to a FBO JB4 car and it will match a car with the Lozic ECU only from a dig (not enough data to predict a roll).

what are some of these fast cars doing about weight reduction? are people gutted? just removing spare tire and tools, back seat out, front seat out, etc. 100 lbs is worth a tenth in the quarter mile right? Lighter rims? lighter rotors? etc. It does seem clear that Lozic is hitting harder at lower rpm's and lower gears. if 1.5 bar is still under 22 lbs of boost peak then Jb4 should be competitive. Or is the TCU tune a big part of it? Also the driver. How are you layering on the throttle, dealing with traction issues, etc. There are so many posts in this thread. can't remember if a FBO, WMI, JB4 has made the switch completely to Lozic TCE/ECU.

Notice that mine 3.85 was 0-62. Here is the one 0-60.
Also, The real low numbers run slicks with small rims, lightened cars, also at strips there is glued. Cold days. Big difference.

I did guarter, see signatur. No launch, just wot. No TCU, no WMI, stock Conti: Strip: 2021-05-29: 12,23@189,1 km/h (117,5 mph), 60 foot: 2,030 seconds.

If I cut 0.5 seconds in 60 ft now with launch, I will be in low 3.

If you get really bored/can't sleep again here's the list of top 20 1/4 mile runs posted on the forum, with their supporting mods.

Mild launch as can sees in 60 ft time

Can anyone here Tell exakt difference between Sport and Sport+ in every aspect?

I'd prefer to get more data on JB4 without mods or only intakes. That's the real gap in data and I think FBO isn't as popular overall. Lots of lurkers in here just trying to decide how to OEM+ their cars. Difference between them and I is maybe I'm more outspoken, or just willing to accumulate data :coffee:

I updated the spreadsheet above with sorting by car setup. Still not sorting by car, tire or track/street, as those who go all out on setup tend to be on the track. Chart below, separating into groups by mod (hardware setup, ECU and TCU tune) (also in the link)

I wish I still had JMP on my work PC or I'd be able to do much better statistical analysis, R^2, std deviation, etc. As-is, I think the takeaway is still that the ECU tune alone is as fast as FBO JB4 on pump gas.

I just got a response to pay for my order. They aren’t using PayPal now? And want a wire transfer. No idea how to do that with my current bank to international..

Same here just got a response I get very worried about wire transfers as once the money is gone the money is gone. Not that I think this guy would do that but you have no recourse if he doesn't send a thing. I'm now on the fence if I want to do this at all

There’s a $25 fee alone to wire transfer from navy fed to international. I’m going to ask them to try paypal as I don’t have the capability to bank transfer. I’ll wait until they can figure out why their PayPal isn’t working.

Yeah at this point if I can't use PayPal and at least have some protection I'm out! I told him about the fees and he said he would allow me to subtract it from the price which is nice of him but even then if he doesn't send me anything I'm out $950!

Same here and I was considering the ECU + TCU + AWD @ $2950!

Looks like he better get something figured out with PayPal or he is going to lose money. And from our conversations seems like a nice guy. But I can't fly to Korea to collect my money if he scams me. I'm going to shoot him an email now and let him not there are at least 3 people wanting to buy several with $2k purchases that won't unless there is a PayPal option

Yea exactly, I’m not sure why paypal is no longer an option…transfers not happening for me

Gents I have sent him an email and will post what he says. But I'm not taking money out of my pocket and putting in his without a way to get mine back if I get nothing. Plus I want some credit card points :)

Well, I just decided on the ECU only route. Got my form filled and sending it to him, but I won't buy without Paypal+protection. Willing to pay for the protection, too, if necessary.
