• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Utah Stingers

I actually made my rims, i bought some rims then i made a copy for them and made a mold and made carbon fibre laced with titanium they weigh 5 pounds each
Thats sounds like a fun skill to have, that's pretty amazing.

its actually not as hard as you may think
This sounds like "making a home bar is simple" YouTube video and the guy has 750k in wood working tools :P

You have any resources I always like to learn new things

its hard to explain through messages its best to show,

right now what im working on is making my own cold air intakes because i dont like the designs out there they all could be done better but i think alot companies rushed prototypes there is one design i liked but i want to improve on it but they are no longer around, so i am going to build off their design and make something better. that is my next project

right now i have ultimateperformance pipes and borla exhaust.... what i am going to do is keep the pipes how they are but i wil ltake off the borla exhuast and make a copy and make it just like what i did to my rims i might be able to get it under 8 lbs i will also not have a rear muffler.... right now the car is really really loud but when i have time to do what i am talking about its going to be really loud because since its going to be way lighter it will not dampen the noise as much and wont expand as much because of higher temp resistance.. this will take time but now since covid is now not around anymore things are seeming better where i dont have to work as much so means more me time

Funny you say that, I want CAI not SRI. Most of the intakes outside JT are not very CAI.

AEM and K&N look fine but lots of complaining. I ended up going with STILLEN so hope that was not a fail.

Hope you share your work on the CAI projects

i think i should show, because right now all the intakes are really not a cold air intake system, they dont have proper insulation protection, also none dont have a true ram air, some have snorkels but not fully enclosed there is alot of room for improvements

what i will do is probably in a couple weeks start it i will make a few videos of how to what i will do, i just think all the designs are not up to par all are in the engine bay getting heat soak none have proper heatshielding such as using a combination of outside layer copper/allumin tape with poly foam to further decrease temps if you do it right it will actually cancel all heat and it will help it get colder beacause it will create what is called evaporative cooling, if you are able to bring down the air temps from the sorce before going into the intercooler it will further decrease temps which means more packed air and the turbo doesnt have to spool as hard because there will be more ready avaialble air that is also already cold and pressed with a true ram air enclosed cone/snorkle , one problem it might throw off the mafs sens but that is something easy to do i dont think it would create that much more psi/lbs from the starting source to throw it off but we shall see who knows maybe i could sell some kits lol

If you need a 2nd set of hands (if work is ever not a time sink) I would love to see this process. I geek out on this stuff.

Howdy, @ISTING you sound like the king of gearheads. :D Welcome to the forum. We don't actually have a Utah "group" per se; five of us met locally a couple of months ago; other than one other meet a couple of years ago (some members in Weber/Davis counties; it was mentioned on this thread), nobody has got together; at least not anything reported on the forum.

We really need to get a meet up going again.

Agreed on the meet/cruise!

I'll wait and join if I can: somebody else has to start these things: nothing I propose goes any further than my fingertips. :P

Has any of you UT guys ordered from that K8 store? Is it legit?

When they have the stuff in stock it comes fast. But they also list when an item is out of stock (like the front Eibach right now): and that you will be notified when it's back in stock and shipped.

What I ordered was not listed as out of stock, will keep an eye out going forward for it tho. thanks
