Has anyone removed or knows how to remove the muffler tips? More specifically, can it be remove without having to remove the bumper? I'm planning of painting it.

Here is a link to another Kia Stinger forum which shows exhaust tips removed and powercoated black, and also shows how 2 screws support the 2 exhuast tips.

Yes thank you. I have seen that post on some other forum. I have gone under the muffler tips and have seen and felt the 4 screws. My concern is not the connection but how specifically does get remove once you undo the screws. The muffler tips has a metel bracket that houses the tip which will prevent them from coming out the back. While the rear of the tips encompass the muffler pipes atleast a inch. It does appear that the bumper must come off but I was hoping for someone to shed some light on a alternative idea.

Hey ivan, unless you are doing the exhaust, you will have to remove the bumper. I was thinking of replacing the tips with some trumpet style tips painted flat black.

It's too bad they aren't more easily accessible. Chrome tips always end up corroding and rusting but to me its not worth the labor cost to remove the bumper to get the tips powder coated. They would look much better in black though

I like the bright exhaust tips. It’s a nice contrast with the piano black rear panel. I just keep them clean and polished.

What do you recommend using to clean and polish ?

Chemical Guys, Mothers, etc. all have metal cleaners/polishes. I've used several of them and they all do the job. I clean and polish them every time I wash the car.

Thanks. Does it remove corrosion? My last ride the tips ended up corroding badly over time

I’ve never had any corrode on my cars.

I removed the tips by unclipping the lower valance. Bumper absolutely does not need to be removed.

Hahahaha, I’m in New England. The roads here are thoroughly salted with both liquid and solid salt. I guess I’ve been lucky, but I never had any corroded exhaust tips.

Hopefully this car will fare better than my last one.

I can already see discoloration but a proper clean and polish should fix that
