Exhaust Tips

To be honest... This is the first car I'm really ever doing anything to. I'm kinda stoked
Same. It was the first for me as well. There is plenty of info out there to do most or a lot of the mods yourself without any help. I admit my limits on some stuff. But I like getting in and learning from the Forum, Terry (from BMS), YouTube, etc. and do the most that I can. It’s been a rewarding experience in many ways.

Could anyone advise me if these tips would work with a Borla S Type exhaust? 4"x3.15" Oval Out 2.5" Inlet Exhaust Tip.

Looking to have them physically attached to the exhaust via welding or clamps to help prevent drone.

I'll be having a custom exhaust shop install everything, so maybe the question is, should they be able to make them work?

I don't have a Borla but from what I see, the exhaust pipe diameter is 2.25 rather than 2.5 inches. If that's accurate, you'd be better off looking for a 2.25" inlet for the tips. I have the MBRP exhaust and that one has a 2.5" outlet so that's the inlet diameter of the tips I got.

Thanks for that info. Does anyone here have any specific 2.25 inlet tips that work with the Borla and don't require any diffuser trimming?

not to mention that price is nuts. I paid about $108 for all 4, shipped, for identical stainless tips. do not pay $150+shipping each.

That price was for 4 actually. But you're definitely not wrong lol

Thank you, I'm checking them out now. Shipping to usa seems a little crazy though.
Check the various shipping options. If memory serves, there was two options. DHL option was like half the cost of the other one. maybe $50.?

I paid extra cause I didn’t want to wait forever for the tips, dhl. Lol

I miss my car it’s in the body shop for the stupid crappy factory paint issue... they are repainting hood and the roof section...

My tips were 25$ each

also I would assume almost all aftermarket exhaust just have this issue with the stock tips since it is not connected.. but of course borla will be the worse since it’s the loudest... even if I got mbrp I would still get tips. Just my opinion
Hey punkfs, what tips did you purchase for your Borla S exhaust? Can you provide a link where you purchased from? Also, did you have to dremel to get them to fit? I want to get tips that will look good and don't require dremel. Thanks in advance for your help.

Per the recommendation in this thread, I think around pg 50-52, I bought these from aliexpress for my Borla. They are on the way to me now.

You're supposed to get 51mm inlet, size A

Yep. No cutting required. I will say the exhaust mechanic had to stretch them
Slightly to get them to slide over the Borla pipes. They had the tool to do it though. They fit through the bumper just fine.

Hey StingerTimeNC do you have any good pics of said tips installed? Still waiting for mine and curious how they're gonna look compared to stock. Thanks in advance.

SnowyGT2 has a Pic on page 40. I recall there's another in here somewhere from someone with an Orange Stinger as well.

Hi, I installed my 63mm-105mm Akrapovic Oval tips and MBRP exhaust today but my tips rub on the outlets a bit. Does anyone have the same problem? Any recommendations?

I was thinking to use dremel and do some trimming.

Try rotating and adjusting the exhaust and the hangers

Thanks for the feedback, I tried rotating but not having a lift was hard. Maybe could do more. I guess I take it to a shop and see what they can do - I definitely didn't think about the hangers
