2022 Kia Stinger GT - better but quieter?

2022 Stinger GT just got a lot better and a lot quieter...

I don't believe that a 2022 valved exhaust is going to sound quieter than before; he went on about this car being quieter (I watched the video, wondering how the MY22 could be quieter inside; and he wasn't talking about cabin noise at all. ).

Not sure why he left the piped in sound on if he really wanted to hear the new exhaust, also it was set to the loudest setting. Only way to really tell is to turn it off. I’ll have to go drive on myself to see if the really made the interior quieter. That has been one of my biggest compliant on the car, it should be quieter. I noticed it seems the rear is lower and the suspension doesn’t bounce as much as in the previous versions. The might have finally done this car justice, if so, this might pull in some more buyers for them.

Bah, so the Canadian MY22 doesn't even have the large Stinger script at the back, missing diamond quilted leather seats, no sequential turn signals and a higher MSRP. Only updates I like on this one is the 10.25" info screen and blind spot cameras. I also don't like the removal of the sunglasses holder.

Ouch, I love having mine. It's one thing my prior car lacked and you don't know how much you like it until you lose it, then get it back again. lol

That is just ridiculous. I can't image a great reason for that, and I bet a huge number of buyers actually use that feature.

Honestly one of the very few complaints I have on my BMW 2 series is the lack of a place to put sunglasses. Honestly, how can a BMW not have a place to put your white sunglasses!?

Manufacturers make some strange omissions...like they don't even understand the buyer.

None of those claims are true.

This reviewer is an idiot. They did a race with a stinger vs q50 rs on some narrow backroad and couldn’t even properly launch the cars at the same. Everyone in the comments pointed this out so he turned comments off lol.

Not sure. It’s just a sealed plastic panel now. Its about as odd as the metal watch band pattern on the seats. Who wants their seats to look like a watch?

Brantford Kia did a live stream on it. A bit long but he's very thorough and shows off almost every aspect of the car. This one is the top trim with the suede interior and red seatbelts. He explains that the removal of the sunglasses holder could be due to the frameless rearview mirror (adding the buttons where the holder use to be) or it could be associated with additional electronics for the lane follow assist. I do also like the updated UVO system - wish our cars are eligible for that update.

Isn't that insane? It's almost as though Kia engineers hunt for ways to gimp the Stinger.

Apart from our Foresters, I've never owned a car that had an overhead sunglass holder. I was quite honestly eagerly looking forward to that feature in the Stinger... and am rolling my eyes in disbelief that Kia were too cheap to put the UVO Link buttons in a more sensible location, like, NOT IN PLACE OF THE SUNGLASS COMPARTMENT. It's almost as if Kia doesn't understand the luxury GT/sports sedan market or something.... but that they still don't include rear LSD in the us market is sufficient evidence that they really don't understand Americans' love affair with performance cars.

Thankfully it isn't a deal breaker for me... but right now I am waiting for the stock market to bounce back before I buy... or at least wait until some more of my stock grants and options vest next year...

To some people, removing it makes no difference. I once left my sunglass for a couple of hours in the holder, and it almost melted.
