I pulled this image from hyundai website. Says here the max torque this transmission can handle is ~400-530 NM which is 390lb torque. Unless the number aren't real, there no point of increasing horsepower and torque. I'm no mechanic.

It just means they would need a new trans if they put any more power with the same warranty. Mild tunes and bolt ons should be no worry, but the phrase 'youve got to pay to play' exists for a reason if you want to go hard. If 'theres no point of increasing horsepower and torque" then you would see posts about transmissions all over the place with how many people have modded the G70/Stinger

yea all the people blowing their transmissions because they mildly tuned it are just hiding, my bad. An opinion becomes more than that when supported by evidence, or the lack thereof. But sure, Ill let more people chime in to say the same thing in other ways.
 
I am pulling 490 Wheel Torque (Dyno Verified) on Map 5 JB4 with E30 Blended fuel and various other mods. I have had the tune since 1000 miles and now at 20k miles.

I have had 0 transmission issues. The car pulls great without any issues.

Before you attack our forum members, maybe you should listen to their opinions as they have the experience about their own cars.

While the Transmission is rated for 390 engine ft/lbs, that doesn't mean it can't handle more, it just means its certified not to fail under those conditions. As G70 Owner pointed out.... youve got to pay to play.

attack? as I said "I understand his point but its more of an opinion" you consider that as an attack? than I'm sorry. I guess I wanted a more technical response.
 
Yes, you insulted his knowledge of the issue and blew off his advice. You are asking a forum of enthusiasts for a professional expert response.

I would advise you to look somewhere else for expert opinions as I doubt you'll find that here in a forum full of enthusiasts.

While I appreciate your point, its just an opinion. Maybe someone more knowledge about how to use the internet could chime in

Im not so thin skinned that I cant take someone telling me 'I dont think you know what you are talking about' but thats what it was.
 
I mean technically they can't rate it for more unless they run more than that amount of power through it. I'm going to take a wild guess and assume if the tcu gets any clutch slip it is going to increase clamping force and that is where the learned transmission reset comes into play.

I see! basically Their most powerful engine only produced that amount of hp and tq which is why its rated that amount.

That's only my guess! I doubt the tranny is fragile when the tq hits that low in the PowerBand with a 100k warranty.
