So, the family and I went on a trip to Colorado to visit family and we took the Stinger. Longest trip she’s ever been on by far. As expected, no issues. But what wasn’t expected was the fuel mileage I actually got. 30.2mpg on the way there, and 29.8 on the way back. Anytime I was on the highway, cruise was set at 80mph. The mountains and canyons of Utah and Colorado on I-70 were fun and I never had to really slow down.
Trip there was without incident. The trip back however, was good until after Las Vegas on I-15. 3+ hours of stop and go traffic. I was actually doing much better on fuel mileage till then.
Number one thing I worked on while driving was figuring out how the car controls speed. Using cruise control on down grades is no good. I figured out that the Stinger holds speed better on downgrades without cruise control on.

Is that a 3.3TT or the 4 cylinder Stinger? You will be surprised how much “ECO” mode will improve the gas mileage especially if you turn on the “coasting” feature. However, you can’t use cruise control with coasting.

The coasting feature disengages the transmission from the engine and lets the car idle while the wheels free spin. Going downhill it will allow the Stinger to at least maintain speed if not actually accelerate. It is only available on the 2019 and newer cars though.

My wife has a gigantic Ford Expedition that I drove to the beach this week. I was able to get 24+ mpg even in that 5,800+ pound car. Their new eco boost engines really are great. The days of normally aspirated V8s are coming to an end.

I just got 30 mpg for the first time on the way up to my Mom's place and if my foot behaves I can get 20 mpg in the city. My Civic Si was getting around 22 mpg in the city so I'm pretty impressed how well it does.

2018 GT
And MY ‘18 didn’t have the coasting feature available.

3.3. I got 31 mpg on a 3/4 highway and 1/4 city/back roads trip. Impressed.

From the computer or calculated at the pump? If at the pump was the trip computer showing close enough measure?

Just the car-puter...

I really need to verify with an ATP confirmation!

my pump calculations are between 1-2 MPG lower than the lie-o-meter on the dash consistently.

I believe it. But, I'm still satisfied with the ECOnomy available.

Im impressed with the gas mileage as well. In eco for city driving (stop and go) its good for 20mpg having a little fun.

what really wow’d me was a morning of chasing my buddy’s Hellcat through the mountains at 5,000 feet it averaged 16mpg under heavy throttle.

In Eco mode, cruise control at 77 mph with the installment of K&N drop in filters, I am able to get 33 and 34 miles per hour.

Never noticed a difference in highway mileage between ECO and Normal. But, I’ve never taken this long of a trip with the Stinger
Eco actually does improve mpg. I’ve had a Sonata, and Elantra, eco on those didn’t show any difference, but on the Stinger it actually does...interesting

Eco mode with cruise control won’t do much as that defeats the “Coasting” feature. If you really want to maximize fuel economy give the “Coasting” feature a try especially when going downhill.

Latest trip. 270 miles. Showed 31mpg and still had half a tank. Almost all highway driving 60 to 80 mph. Filled the tank until it was at the fuel cap before I left. Then filled it same way when I got home. By the figures I got 27.5 mpg. Not too bad for a gt2 awd.

How exactly do you enable COASTING feature? I have 2021 GT1 can't figure it out

It is in the settings menu on the center screen in the middle of the car. I forget exactly where it is. However, it is labeled “coasting” I believe so it isn’t hard to find. Enable it and then coast a few times for 20 seconds or so and it will activate. It will say “coasting” when you are coasting in the screen behind the steering wheel when it works. You will feel the transmission disengage when coasting then.

22 months and 63k km into my ownership and I just learned about coasting this morning. Just tried it and it works like a charm. First time I drove in ECO :)
