I thought the $45k MSRP was ridiculous. Adding another $25k on top of that is just stupid. The crazy thing is that they will actually get that price from someone. Rare cars with lot’s of hype around them sell.
There are only 600 of these cars destined for the US. Only 1,000 world wide. That is relatively rare. Also the Civic Type R has almost a cult following for the regular model. This thing takes obsessive desire to a new level. My local Honda dealer had one with a $10k "adjustment". I'm not sure where the high demand came from.
I sense a little sarcasm in this post for some reason.
From what I read, they are mostly charging for that they remove: rear heating ducts, tonneau cover, wiper blade, and sound-deadening materials. Sure, there is a special color (not a fan) and lighter wheels. But I think one could reclaim most of that 46 lbs themselves for a lot less than $25K. Seems like a better idea to have a second set of wheels and tires specifically for the track anyway.
I have more power than that with rwd and lsd for 33k total...why would anyone drop another 30k?I thought the $45k MSRP was ridiculous. Adding another $25k on top of that is just stupid. Kia should do an ultra limited edition(500 vehicles) Stinger with an upgraded engine. Just tune it to 450 HP and 500 lb ft of torque. Give it AWD and a switch to enable burn outs and drifting. They could get $65k to $75k for those cars easily.
Does your car still have a 10 year factory warranty though?I have more power than that with rwd and LSD (Limited Slip Differential) for 33k total...why would anyone drop another 30k?
Yes I still have a warranty. I bought it brand new 18 months ago. All I have to do for waranty work is to unplug and re-install about 7 things.Does your car still have a 10 year factory warranty though?
How are you putting all of that power to the ground with RWD. Just curious because I am having problems with traction in my essentially stock RWD GT2.
Because we are a free market...no one is forcing anyone to buy a limited edition, purpose-built, super-hatch.Marking up car prices should be criminal especially during a pandemic wonder why we put up with this in the USA and wonder why people have not sued this industry of stealerships.
