Hey everyone, I am new to this Forum and just bought a 2019 KIA Stinger 4 Cyl AWD Base model last year. Originally bought because I like the appearance and intended for my kids and as a daily driver, plus I got it for $0 down out the door at $28k from the dealer with 4 miles and 2% APR, how could anyone pass that up right? I quickly fell in love with the car and wanted to give it a little pick me up so I purchased and installed a JB4 and Intake. Not shooting for high performance but wanted to feel the car when I hit the gas and between these 2 the car is night and day. Anyway I have 1 concern about the JB4 if anyone can help me out.

Q). I use the bluetooth for my JB4, does this need to be connected every time I drive the car for the JB4 to work? Or can I drive my car without it “connected” and it will still use the last map setting? I can feel the difference when it’s on, but I’m wondering if I go through a canyon and lose that connection, will the performance drop suddenly? Is there a way to control the setting on the dash using the OBD plug?

Welcome!!! helluva deal you got there!!!!!! i too am a 2.0T owner, 2018(20K miles). luv the car as well but plan on upgrading to 3.3 in about a year. i have: JB4, HKS plugs (.022 gap), K&N panel filter. no further mods in case of trading up. i have the bluetooth adapter and had some issues in the beginning but nothing since updating the firmware. make sure that the adapter is not touching metal, and it helps that you have no other bluetooth devices in the car. the adapter mainly allows connection to the phone app so that you can make adjustments using the phone instead of a clumsy laptop. Once you make changes to the jb4 and save them, even if you don't use the app, the jb4 stills does the job unless it detects a problem with your setup and disables itself. it won't care if bluetooth is connected or not. you can adjust the MAPS using the wiper delay switch...and it is pretty cool unless you bump it or something. You didn't mention "plugs". did you get those (HKS or Denso) or are you using stock? here is the thread link:

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Moving this topic into the JB4 section. :)

Hi Monusa,

Thank you so much for the extremely helpful and useful information. So happy to know that the JB4 will not drop the performance based on connection and that you can switch maps from the wiper delay switch. I have not gotten the plugs yet, just started reading the forums and tuning the car last month. I will definitely check out the spark plugs though. Thank you
