Used Stinger GT Market Info

It's not just Stingers that are seeing inflated prices. Used cars in general are higher than normal right now.
Everybody but INFINITI. They are just struggling massively right now. They have no new inventory and their used car prices aren’t increasing quite like everyone else’s. They are in real trouble. Nissan has abandoned them and they basically don’t have any competitive vehicles anymore.

INFINITI Only has 5 different vehicles they sell now and they will not produce any new vehicles until later next year. That vehicle will be a $55K+ small suv with a CVT. Good luck saving a brand off of that.

I was a HUGE INFINITI fan for more than a decade. I wouldn’t touch one of their cars with a 10 foot pole right now. Their dealerships are closing left and right.

Is this just happening in the US?

I wonder if the prices are going up in oz as well?

My neighbor asked me, "How do you like your Maserati?" LOL! When I told him it's a Kia Stinger, he was like, "Huh? Get out of town!"
Same. Had a contractor come to the house to give an estimate to cut down a tree and he said, “Wow, that’s a nice car. Maserati right”
Also detail cars on the side and while I was washing my Stinger the neighbor came over and said, “New Client” I responded, “Nope this one is mine”. So he states “Oh you bought a Jaguar”

I think I am going to buy some prototype car camouflage wrap and put it on the hatch and hood. Then watch how many more people break their necks trying to figure out what i am driving.

I've been thinking of selling my 2019 GT2 AWD, 20k miles, clean, no damage except curve rash on one wheel. What could realistically I get for it?

It's not just Stingers that are seeing inflated prices. Used cars in general are higher than normal right now. Dealerships just don't have as many cars on their lot right now due to factories shutting down during the pandemic.
So people in need of cars are looking towards used when they can't find the new car they want.
Hopefully it evens out sooner or later r/askcarsales says to buy now because it's going to get worse while r/whatcarshouldibuy says that it should return to normal next year. I'd rather believe the non salesmen, lol.
Exactly. My trade in would’ve been worth $3k more had I waited to get my car now instead of May.

I’ll just wait it out. The market will return to normal and when it does should be a good time for deals.

Private party? I would say around $36k. 2019's go for slightly more, but the mileage isn't far off from most 2018's.

First, I'd go to CarMax if you have one nearby and get an offer for a baseline. Also, get prices from Carvana and Vroom - it's an easy online process and sometimes their prices are good enough that it's not worth the hassle of private party sales.

Check CarFax and see what they are going for Nationwide as well as locally.

Yeah that's my plan, I just hope it's sometime in 2021 at the latest. I'm sick of driving my 08 Camry and I'm eager to get into something more fun.

I am going to be in the market for a 2018 GT in about a year. What confuses me most about the used prices is people are buying a brand new GT using the lease trick for like 34k. How are the used prices the same or higher? So far the lowest GT i found was 33k, sometimes asking price as high as 38k. I wonder if they will drop significantly right before 2020
I bought my 2018 for 30k

Updated prices for mid October. After increasing the last 4 months or so due to supply and demand, resale prices have started moving down again. Still, the average prices are above where they were in April.

The most relevant thing is that new prices of Stingers have SKYROCKETED! I saw an AWD GT2 listed for over $58k at my local dealership this week. That same car would have listed at $54k earlier this year or definitely last year.

The days of getting a GT2 brand new for under $40k are slipping away. Eventually that will bolster the prices of the used cars. They may not go up again but I doubt we will see them go down significantly in the near future. That is very significant because equivalent sedans from other manufacturers(ie: INFINITI Q50, Mercedes, Audi A4....etc) are losing value quickly now.

I paid $39,420 for my 2020 AWD GT2, via the lease buy out process (please see attached screenshot as proof). I traded in my Stinger last week for a 2021 Tahoe Z71. They gave me $45,631 for my Stinger (please see attached screenshot as proof). Crazy! I got my Tahoe for a little under Supplier Pricing (they pulled a bit from their holdback), less a $1000 Costco rebate (I locked in this price before any discussions around trade-in for my Stinger). My Stinger was fully paid for, so I owed exactly $16k out of pocket for the Tahoe. I'll miss my Stinger for sure! But I love my new Z71, too! The dealership has my Stinger listed on their website for $46,490. I would be shocked if they got anything over $46k for it.

Wow!. Made a profit on the Trade in. What state was this in? I'm noticing out of state Kia Stinger GT2 are cheaper than in California for sure. I'm going to buy the 2022 model in late 2021 or 2022 if I can get a deal like you did. Otherwise I will settle for what kinda of deal I can get on a New 2020 that is still sitting on dealer lots because I'm sure there will be some unloved 2020's Right now I still see "New ones on dealer lots that are 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 all. That is unprecedented for sure the deals can be made on the older years as dealers are trying to get them off their lots. I hope the market cools off and I score like you did. I want a GT2 and I have to have RED interior that is my only request, I would love to get a Ceramic Silver or Grey to go with that.

I have been watching you all with your Stingers in envy since 2017 and saving my Cash I will be ready to pull the plug late 2021 or 2022.

New cars from Korea are going to suffer from the falling USD.

Likely just the average price of all used stingers? They don’t clarify any of the models on the chart
