I’m thinking about ordering the newer Carlinkit v2.0 with the USB C cable from Amazon prime for $132. Seems like this unit works pretty well on the stinger. How long is the delay on the stinger from starting the car until CarPlay is shown? About 30-40 seconds? Any weird issues on the stinger? Steering wheel? Audio delay?

I can’t comment on that exact model, as that’s not the one that I have, but I’ve been using mine for about a week now. No issues. Connects really quick for me. Probably like 15-20 seconds tops and it’s good to go. I’ve got one in my wife’s Sorento too. Same experience.

I’ve been using the Carlinkit 2.0 since March & no issues, delays on start up is almost identical to my BlackVue dash cam starting recording so it’s no big issue as I would normally use this time for engine warming & oil lubrication.

I believe this one is only for car play for someone on the FB group was able to enable Android mirroring and got their full phone screen on the Stinger unit

I received my carlinkit adapter the other day from Amazon Prime. It’s the newer usb c model, but not sure if there is actually anything different from the other version. it works pretty well. It worked the first time I plugged it in as expected. There is a slight delay when changing songs and it takes a little longer to connect, but overall it works as expected. Hopefully updates to iOS or the unit will help with these issues in the future, but I’m glad to be wireless.

There currently is not a commercial product that enables wireless android auto without a special app on the head unit. Installing an app on our head unit is currently not an option.

There is a person working on a design for a transparent wireless adapter, and he has software released on xda labs that can turn a MK809V TV stick into a wireless android auto adapter. I haven't tried it yet, I'm still waiting for my MK809V to arrive from China.

received my carplay2air from the link provided on page 3 and it works very well ! there is maybe a 1 1/2second delayed from the display to the song when you changed up the songs but I would say it is very minimal, it works great !
I am having a slight delay upon connecting though, it takes 30s ish from the time I start the car up but that is maybe common time and my expectation were too high

The biggest thing for me with these was the delay talking on the phone. It was *noticeably* bad. I can deal with the steering wheel command delay, but that was an unfortunate deal breaker.

I've used my phone a few times now and haven't noticed a delay with the Carlinkit. I wonder if that was fixed in the firmware updates for the Carplay dongle?

Takes approx. no more than 10 seconds to connect then it works fine & no flickering is evident. The steering wheel buttons function with phone & iTunes.
I only got it this afternoon so time will tell

Would you mind providing the link to the product you purchased? I have been looking at this extensively and there are several of them available on amazon, including the Car2Play.com option. Also, did you have to go into engineering mode on your headunit and install a .APK file for this to work, or was it just plug and play? Thanks in advance.
